How about someone who gives us a chance? Say, tying a sweater to the crossbar, or playing with a shooter-tutor, instead of Mr. softie back there?

barry33 · barry33

Something has become very clear to me (and to many observers) the last few games. Bob Gainey has been calling the personell shots, even before he took over the coaching reins. Case in point. Radek Bonk. I recall many on this board dissing CJ because he would go back to Bonk after he made a terrible error....

It seems that the posting population has grown exponentially in the past few months - mainly since the new format. Lots of newcomers - and that's a good thing, as Martha would say. Since I'm the nosy one, I like to know about the poster behind the avatar, but now there are so many of us, I do...

He did'nt even have a good warmup!!!!!!!!!!!! A comment from a Canuck behind me...."geeeez, I'm still singin OH CANADA and it's 2-0". After the 5th goal he bought me a beer. I glared across the ice at BG and said for the 3rd time how bout now Bob? Is now a good time...

I remember about 2 weeks ago i watched about 2 periods of the Carolina and Detroit game that was on TSN. I tell ya they were all over the redwings. And if a team like the canes play like that against a strong offensive, defensive, and netminding team like the wings, i'm scared for tonight.&n...

Ryder is second leading scorer and his +/- has become alot more acceptable (-2) since he's been playing on Saks line. Maybe we should put Ribs with Sak on the #1 line along with Ryder to get his +/- up. How bout we get some of the other lines going... Bonk care to score another this season or are you...

I note that Gainey is using Bonk more than Saks! Not much more but alot more than CJ used Bonk! Does this mean Gainey has more confidence in Bonk? Maybe likes his size better like on the PP or he notes that Saks is tired and trying to revive him? Maybe I'm reading too much into this and...

I think that the bottom line for everyone here is that we need to trust Gainey. We have no choice. We all agree that the coaching change needed to be made and now that Gainey has infultrated the dressing room he will make the changes he sees fit. As far as any inside information I have I will keep it to myself...

Would it be wrong to say with the trades hopefully coming our way to throw in out first rounder....Price. We have guys like Denis, Huet, Halak, Lindberg in which a few were just drafted in 2003. So we have some depth in nets or so we think.....there must be a team out there without as much dep...

As this season goes along ,its becoming clearer that having depth defencely is going to be the most important position to fill if that means loading them up on the farm team then thats what I would do ...just some decent stay at home types that are like what you might call a "plumbers" &nb...

After the first they played 3rd/4th line. I saw a couple of times when their top lines were on, they were simply coasting. They could have blown the habs out 12-0 or worse if they wanted. After the 4th goal they did not even celebrate. I saw Naslund make a face on the bench after the 5 th goal. He was...

If this road trip doesn't get Gainey active then nothing will! Then the sware word comes into play....REBUILDING! So much for building on last season! We might as well of kept Juneau, Brise, Perreault etc. as we're no better off this season! Tell me again why Gainey...

Just watched sports on CTV and BG didn't look happy. He said the team was bumbling around and went into panic mode. He was asked if he was thinking about pulling Theo earlier, he said NO. Then he was asked why he pulled him and he bluntly said, he let in 5 goals.

JFJ just gave Quinn the vote of confidence, we all know what that means. Will CJ be behind the bench of the Leafs soon? Will Barry turn on his beloved Habs to cheer on CJ and the Leafs. Stay tuned folks, the week ahead looks to be interesting. Maybe Barry33 would be able to spill the beans about the Habs if th...

Something is wrong in that dressing room. This is a "whole" team problem. Bad games happen to teams but this was something more. Something I figure has no quick fix that's for sure.

Here's my opinion: 1) Goaltending - we are getting very poor goaltending from Theo. This does not look like it's turning around anytime soon. We are missing what is supposed to be our biggest strength this year. 2) Defence is not good after Markov. We have Rivet and Souray who should be #3 and #4. We...
