Canucks showed real class

After the first they played 3rd/4th line. I saw a couple of times when their top lines were on, they were simply coasting. They could have blown the habs out 12-0 or worse if they wanted. After the 4th goal they did not even celebrate.

I saw Naslund make a face on the bench after the 5 th goal. He was shocked.

Boys, this sould have been one of the worst blow out's in the history of the game. We can thank Crawford and the nucks for showing class... and mercy.

Fully agree.  I mentioned the 3rd/4th line thing in a previous post and when I woke up this morning I thought that I need to post something about how classy they were in not humiliating us.  I have gained a ton of respect for Crawford and Naslund and most of the Canuck team.  I am sure Bob thanked him after the game.

Although it was nice to not be completly obliterated, this respect thing is silly. Maybe you don't hit as hard or start a fight but you don't stop trying. Pad your stats. Go for it.

(...note Domi at the end of TO's 7-0 loss trying to start something...what's that about? What a dork...)

That must be in the unabridged version because my dictionary just had Domi = Dork

Fig. I gotta disagree. Watching Don Cherry as most young players do growing up, you NEVER embarass another team. Even the minor competative hockey I played, we always let up if we were crushing another team. it's just an unwritten rule.

In fact, I would not have been at all suprised if after the first period Crawford told the boys that he respected BG( as all do in the NHL), and to let up just a little. Crawford knew the HABS were in BIG BIG trouble.

Maybe if it was not the habs and Bob Gainey but Colorado---they  may not have let up

I never have sensed any animosity between the habs and 'nucks. Does anyone remember an incident that says otherwise? My memory might be spotty on this. I don't remember off hand a playoff meeting between the two... maybe I'm wrong, someone less lazy than me can look that one up...

I think the reference is if the Canucks had the Avs down 6-0, they would not have let up.
