The Cost of a Saku Point...
Permalink Closed

Here, by year, is the history of the cost of a point from Saku:

1995-96     $      36,667

1996-97     $      29,464

1997-98     $     13, 158

1998-99     $      68,192

1999-00     $    157,143

2000-01     $      70,213

2001-02     $ 1,650,000

2002-03     Battling Cancer

2003-04      $    59,859

2004-05

2005-06)     $   50,294   (Year-to-Date)

I am not sure if this proves anything more than my ability to do simple arithematic - but it might be interesting to run the numbers for other players just for the heck of it.

So what's my point?  I think I would like to see the trend flat or declining, but that's just me.  (No. I didn't adjust for inflation. Data source is www.hockeyzoneplus.com and www.usatoday.com.)

You made me chuckle with that one, TJ!

Try the numbers on Bonk if you have the raw data, please.

I know this is just more picking on Theo, but for 03-04 he cost us over $3000 per save.
