the Buffalo Gap
(Preview)
Buffalo has emerged as a trendy dark horse pick to represent the eastern conference in the Stanley Cup finals. Sitting comfortably with 98 points and fourth seed in the conference, while the Habs remain in a fight to make the playoffs and are perceived as first round sacraficial lambs. Yet to some ext...

Big game tomorrow boys!
(Preview)
We haven't played an elite team in a while.
I'm thinking the boys will get beat by better goaltending without Huet but I do understand the importance of resting him. Do you think Gainey is using Abbi against a team that we may not win anyways? Should he of rested Huet against Boston and us...

I credit Souray last night for Ryder's solid play.
(Preview)
How can Ryder let Souray down when Souray decided to drop his gloves(should of waited for Downer to answer the bell) for him and sit for a big chunk of the game. To me it's no coincidence that Ryder had his best game of the season. He had no choice but to play well to show his respect for Souray w...

Who we want come playoff time??
(Preview)
Ahh yes following yesterday's question of who we consider to be the Habs MVP...I think it is a two horse race between Huet and Markov. All due respect to Koivu who has played pretty well all season and Souray and Begin who have been brilliant at times it is a two horse race.
My question today is a little d...

Last time Habs won 7 consecutive games
(Preview)
Back in 2001-02, Canadiens in late March early April put on a streak of 7 straight wins. Led by strong goaltending. Hmmm sounds familiar eh? Theodore went on to win Vezina and MVP that season.
And can someone confirm, wasn;t the 7 win the return of Saku Koivu from ca...

Last 7 game prediction
(Preview)
Before the last sequence of 10 games, I predicted we'd go 7-2-1 and I was being "glass-half-full." Well, the glass was more than half full! This post is just for fun, I take no credit for the Habs success.
Predicted vs actual.
PIT 3-1 W was 4-5 L
vs. WSH 4-2 W was 4-2 W
NYI 3-1 W was 1-3 L

Was it a mistake...
(Preview)
It seems like when a player has a good game, Gainey then promotes him and changes the line-up. Was it wise to bump Murray up last night? The guy was just getting used to Plecs and Perez and potting a couple goals, then has to adjust again with new mates. It's hard for a player with limited offensive t...

Koivu is terrible
(Preview)
I have read numerous post on this site about Koivu being terrible, over-rated,definitely not worth the money .... and some even more derogatory than these.
It is really strange how, in life, ignorance has a habit of coming back and biting one in the butt.

GREAT GAME BY DOWNEY
(Preview)
Hello All
What a game Aaron Downey played last night, by far the best game he's played all year. Did it look like he had some major wheels on that breakaway, or was it just me? Honestly, I think he's awesome, maybe not an everyday player but the guy is an awesome asset to have on the team.&nb...

I've ranted about this pro-Toronto clown once before, but this morning took the cake.
On Nationally televised games, a reporter is allowed to stand between the teams two benchs and file mid-game reports. Pierre Maguire does a great job of this on NBC Saturday afternoons. On locally...

Mea Culpa
(Preview)
I'm watching the game, early in the second period. Mrs. d walks in, and I tell her that Boston has not scored on Cristobal Huet in over 11 periods. I haven't finished saying the word "periods" when Bergeron puts one in.
I guess I jinxed them.
Sorry...........

Sorry to say that due to the Code being a little vague, and as a result my being admonished for something I wouldn't interpret as a violation, that I'll be popping off again until there's some sort of loosening of these restrictions.
Good luck to all, and if I don't see you again before the playoffs

Unbelievable. He gets no suspension for an elbow to the head and a knee-on-knee that puts Hecht out for at least two weeks.
