Grabovsky signed to 3 year deal
(Preview)
For all those lamenting the Habs signing of Riberio, the positive news is that the club has sign Grabovsky to a three year deal, and he will be coming to North America for the upcoming season. This guy has all the talent and skill to ultimately replace Riberio as the teams second line center. Although a l...

Just think of the cap space!
(Preview)
And-o is (perhaps surprisingly...even to himself) very, very optimistic about this upcoming season!
The Habs have LOADS of solid prospects and LOADS of cap space and LOADS of netminding.
The weaknesses are (and have been) consistently quite obvious...but they are quite fixable (as i...

Other GMs have faith in the Habs, you should too!

Pulled this from another site:
Hey guys, was driving home tonight, when Blue GM came on AM640 in toronto with Bill waters. They talked mostly about teams that made moves, and ofcourse the Blues, but the Blues GM was quick to note the Habs were very good in the playoffs this year, and are in very good s...

Kozlov
(Preview)
Is a UFA. Granted he has not done alot. But he has played with Kovalev in the past and they seem to play well. Why not sign him and put him on Kovy's line? Similar to what the Rangers did by bringing in a bunch of "Cancelled Czecks" to play with Jagr (seemed to work there). Why not give Kozlov a try with Kovalev...

What happens with Zednik
(Preview)
As patient as the Habs have been with Ribeiro, I am of the opinion that Zednik had an off year with only 16 goals. Prior to that, in his previous seasons with the Habs, he had 22,31 and 26 goals. Those aren't so shabby numbers that would make me want to give up on him because he had one bad season. Durin...

Barry33's "turning point" comment...
(Preview)
Earlier...in another thread...Barry33 posted the following...
.....I am tired of all of this "If Saks had not gone down we would have gone a long way in the playoffs" stuff.....Was Saks going down a factor? Of course.....But the turning point in the series was when the Canes got some goaltending!...

Gagne?
(Preview)
Anyone hearing anything about Gagne? I read a lot of crap elsewhere and trust this place the most. Any good word out there? I read he wants more than Philly can offer (cap issue, I suppose) and that Gainey may offer something. Could there be a trade possiblilty? Since...

Tanguay
(Preview)
I still think the Habs are in good shape. Plenty, of successful teams last year didn't make many moves (Buffalo, Carolina), then on the other side some teams made significant moves which greatly improved their teams (Edmonton).
I think Montreal could/should have gotten Tanguay from Colo...

Ribeiro will go down in history as the guy that ruined the fabled Montreal Canadians franchise...
That's right( Said like putty off Seinfeld)... He is the poster child for the Montreal media so desperate for a local hero. They let him at the age of what...21?, pick a fight with a proven vetern leader...

Centers
(Preview)
Although I am in full agreement that we really need a top-two center, I have to say that I like the rest of our middle crew. Koivu is consistently strong and is an excellent #2. Plekanec showed that he can be a Koivu jr. and should build on that even more this season. And Bonk really improved his play in the 2...

Guerin and Perreault next on Gainey's radar screen
(Preview)
Reading the various blogs, I see these two names coming up.
I was always curious why Yanik Perreault, the league's top face off man, was given a lesser role for Nashvile in the 2006 playoffs? And currently, would Perreault fill any voids on the Habs' roster?

Why some stars haven't signed in MTL
(

Its not because Gainey hasn't been working, its because these people DO NOT want to play in montreal!!!! Why? The media, Le Journal de Montreal, La Presse, TQS mainly have given montreal a reputation that isn't a good one. Gainey offered more money to some of the free agents who signed, but decided to t...
