They got what we needed, a very   very solid d man and a very solid ctr in Chara and Savard. News around here is ther are almost an instant contender. Wish I had the same good feeling

By signing those 2 players everyone seems to think Boston will be contenders, but look at what happened to the penguins last year.  Everyone had high expectations and they ended up with one of the worst records. 


 


p.s. - Chara is overrated and over paid, Savard will have his worst season ever without kovalchuk and Hossa as linemates.

Boston and Pittsburgh are not fair comparisons. Boston had a decent team last year. Pittsburgh has been brutal for years. Boston now has Dave Lewis as a coach..Pittsburgh had Therrien. Why is it that EVERY player that the habs fail to sign is overated or too old when someone else does?
