Guerin and Perreault next on Gainey's radar screen

Reading the various blogs, I see these two names coming up.


I was always curious why Yanik Perreault, the league's top face off man, was given a lesser role for Nashvile in the 2006 playoffs?  And currently, would Perreault fill any voids on the Habs' roster?

A thrid line center if we could fix our center position. Either by dealing away Ribs, or Bonk. I dunno, I thought about this myself, but not too sure. He doesn't have a real solid play asides from faceoffs. He did well in Nashville, but didn't do so hot here IMO.

I can't see Gainey trading for Perreault. He could have had him for nothing last year and chose not to, so why the sudden change of heart?

Ahhhh, I guess it's tick .. tick ... tick.  Before you know it, the season starts, with the same crop of players as the one that we finished 2005-06 with.  And if there was anything that was obvious was that the work ethic was not there every night.  Personally I don;t think that's something that a head coach can change.

Brendan Witt... there's another guy I wanted! I'm having patience with Gainey, but it's starting to run out. I can see Shanahan being signed soon too and we'll get nobody good.

I tell ya, If gainey is seen on the streets in montreal, im sure hes getting mouth-fulls from fans!!! EVERY bloody team in the nhl has done at least SOMETHING. St Louis has gone NUTS. Are you telling me of ALL the UFA's out there we couldnt get 1!!! COME ON!!!!

Personally I'm glad we didn't pick up Witt. He's not at his best lately, and less effective in the speedier game we are seeing at the moment. Honestly, the only defenseman we really want right now is a #1 (maybe #2) or a prospect. Brendan Witt is neither.

Columbus doesn't need a goalie, they will be starting Pascal Leclaire, who split time with Denis last year anyways and played better to boot.


Detroit, now there is a team that needs a goalie as they are letting Legace walk.
