Review from the other board
(Preview)
Effort.
No matter who you are, no matter what you do, if you pay the price and work to the best of your abilities, you can do anything.
Perhaps it was the return of Kovalev to the lineup. Perhaps Julien finally got through a few thick skulls. Doesn't really matter when you see the results.
Effort.

Gainey's Options
(Preview)
Was listening to the Team 990 today. The discussion centered around Trade options and how Gainey has kind of painted himself into a corner with some of his trades and signings. They also mentioned (take this for what it is worth) some supposed "inquiries" regarding available Habs. Thsi sums up what w...

Ryder
(Preview)
I've noticed that, along with just about everyone else ,Michael Ryder has been getting a lot of stick recently. I have a couple comments and a question. First of all he's scored 15 goals, so he must be doing something right. Secondly he's still only in his second NHL season. Question: a couple of games a...

Which line Julien plays vs. Spezza, Heatley & Alfy could be the key to a surprise showing!
(Preview)
And-o prays that CJ takes full advantage of the last change rule and plays a true checking line (eg. Buly, Sunny & Higgins) versus Ottawa's big three.
.....if CJ attempts to match top-lines with Ottawa...even with Saku and/or Kovy...this could get ugly fast...especially since the Ha...

An Observation of the NHL Head Office

I live outside Toronto but take a commuter train to work in down town Toronto, a few months ago while taking the train - I saw a gentleman reading a whole bunch of fax/photocopies of newspaper articles of The NHL and was entently reading the faxes and therefore getting an idea of what the public/newspap...

Well I need you guys to at least indulge a proud dad and let me post my son's stats this year to date. My son is 16 and in his second year of Midget AAA this year. That's the second time Begin nails someone in a vulnerable position. I'm not saying it was obviously intentional. He's living on the edge and I hope he doesn't maim someone for life!

Game-plan for tomorrow vs. Ottawa...
(Preview)
This game will be much closer than everyone here seems to think.
This team should rally on the road...and several guys are fighting for roster positions...so don't expect to see any sort of embarrassing blow-out!
And-o's message to the Habs for tomorrow is simple: just try...

Julien's background

This is his bio off the Canadiens website. I felt it pertinent to put it here to give some a better understanding of this guy's qualifications. A "rookie coach" with no experience this guy is not. Some here will argue that he coaches like he is and that is your opinion. However his record speaks for itsel...

Out for tomorrow according to Team 990:
Out:Plekanecs (knee), Zednick (flu), Theodore(knee). Doubtful: Kovalev (game day Dr. Decision). Koivu Left practice today early with a sore groin. It is possible the whole first line could be out tomorrow night. Nice.
Maybe when you fire the coa...

Will he make a difference, sure. Bu...
