I live outside Toronto but take a commuter train to work in down town Toronto, a few months ago while taking the train - I saw a gentleman reading a whole bunch of fax/photocopies of newspaper articles of The NHL and was entently reading the faxes and therefore getting an idea of what the public/newspaper columunist thought of the New NHL and I imagine all the "hockey guys" who work for the NHL Head Office get these faxes to start their day, and possibly have meetings to discuss the more interesting articles. So I think the NHL is concerned about public opinion of their league. The NHL Toronto Head Office is in the office tower of the Air Canada Centre. The person I saw - I think was E.J. Macguire (must be an old buddy of Colin Campbell, MacGuire I think has been a NHL assistant coach a few times as well as a junior coach - I am not sure if he is related to loud mouth Pierre)......

The "real" NHL Head Office - i.e. where Gary Bettman hangs his hat - is in New York, right? What staff and functions would go on in the Toronto office?

Probably the main and most important thing is on game night where TO. has the final say on video replay for goals......that's why sometimes it seems to take a while to make a decision on goals - it is Toronto having the final say
