Remember when Steve Yzerman broke into the league? He was named captain right away. And the same should have happened to Crosby, however, kinda difficult when the current team captain Mario Lemieux is also team CEO and part-owner.

While he is truly a hockey man in the cerebral sense, a little experience would help prepare for the leadership role he is assured of as he gets older.

Of course, Nil d disagrees with And-o on this one. The "time for a change" comment was clearly best not said, but when the entire team of highly-paid veterans goes in the tank and the 18-year-old kid is the only one pulling his weight, Nil d says reward him for this leadership. Given the microscope he's been under since the age of 10, his out-of-fline comments have been very few and far between. (Compared to, say, stiff-necked Cherry.)

Don't even begin to compare Sid to Eric Lindros. Puhlease!!

I give the kid credit for having the Tamales to come out and say something. I question the leadership of a Rechi and Leclair when you leave it up to a kid to speak up and call his teamates out. Therrien saw this and recognized and rewarded him for it.

I think Crosby should have kept his mouth shut. I certainly would not have given him a C or and A.

I disagree man... I think that he has been the only guy to show up most nights... Did anyone see his goal yesterday? This kid is the real deal in evey sense of the word and he wouldn't be saying anything to the media without knowing full well what he is doing. He has been dealing with the media since before most of us could tie our own hockey skates so if he speaks up and says that there are problems there must be problems. Look at their record... they have sucked all season. And from what I read about Eddy-O's coaching style there needed to be a change. So Sid was right... I have no problem with him speaking his mind.

I stand behind the kid. In fact, if coaching is the huge problem some say it is in Montreal then I wish some of the players would do what Crosby did. Either put up or shut up. I would love to see Koivu or Rivet do one of two things:

a) Stand up and say that a change needs to be made -OR-

b) Stand up and say "look coaching is not the problem here. The players need to be held accountable and we support CJ 100%"

Then again, this is the only place I hear the give Julien the boot chant.

cherry is a loud mouth redneck hick..

when the habs played boston in the playoffs in the intermissions they would show replays of him ****ing up and putting too many men on the ice OVER AND OVER it was fantastic.

i wish they just canned his ass and only had mclean on.

He says what he says so that people wil tune in. When he is at the airport and I've talked to him, he is nothing but a gentleman, and even respectful towards french canadians lol. I was surprized at how he got along with the french people at my work.
