Who deserves the win?

This game is so not what a normal playoff game is like. So many ups and downs for both teams. Who do you think deserves to win this one with their play so far?

Habs win 6-1 in the first game of the fisrt round of the playoffs in the others teams barn...and AB and And-O can't handle someone heaping some praise for a darn good technical game from Koivu...

From AB..." he needs to do more than clog up the nuetral zone"

The "hit"
(Preview)
Hey did anyone else see that hit from Connelly on Umberger last night? I also thought it was pretty tasteless that the Buffalo guys showed it on replay on the big screen.
It reminded me why I hate the sabres...ever since that punk Barnaby scored a hat trick against the habs I've hated the sabres. I just...

Can Huet do 2, eh?
(Preview)
I'm betting he can!
I was wrong in a previous post - there would have been no excuse to start Abby - and in fact I hope we never have to see him until next year.
Huet is a phenom who definitely seems to also bring out the Habs' offensive abilities as well.

Who's spot will Begin take???
(Preview)
Although this will be a nice 'problem' to have, And-o really thinks that this merits some serious consideration!
And-o thinks that Begin (if/when ready to go) could get bumped over to the wing...but would you sit Sunny given his defensive talents???
...and surely Gainey wouldn't sit Bulis or Z...

'Canes' goaltending dilemma
(Preview)
I wonder who will start the next game for Carolina? I'm hoping Gerber. He's stone cold right now, has no confidence, and should he allow a soft one or two, an unproven rookie comes in cold from the bench.
Should they start the rookie (Ward?), he's unproven and will be nervous.&nb...

will this comeback to haunt us
(Preview)
'I just had too much space and too much time on my hands,'' Kovalev said. ''I could shoot anywhere I wanted. I felt like it was practice.''
this is the kind of remark that gets posted in the other teams dressingroom . hope it doesnt serve to motivate the canes

Hab Playoff virgins
(Preview)
Jim Hughson mentioned last night that six Hab players were playing their first NHL playoff game.
I can think of Huet, Higgins, Perezhogin, Plekanec, and (I believe) Garth Murray. Who is the other one?

Interesting that the two smallest teams in the NHL (by my reckoning, have to confirm), Buffalo and New Jersey, look like two of the most dangerous teams in the playoffs. I wonder if the "new nhl" really does mean that quick teams are going to have a resurgence in the playoffs as well as the r...

A really funny thing

It's funny how no one is commenting on our leading scorers job last night. 3 point night for Kovalev. If Koviu played so well, then Kovalev must have been god like. I know we pay him to score, but did any of you see him lift Staal's stick? Pure genius.
BTW I am j...

The Hockey Analysts Were Right!
(Preview)
I keep repeating that when the season beagn, hockey analysts were stressing that to ahcieve success in the new NHL you need 2 things:
Solid Goaltending and Solid Special Teams.
Those were the two reasons for the victory last night. Huet was a rock and both our PP and PK were great.

And-o figures that starting out the playoffs on the road is not all bad!
