Who's spot will Begin take???

Although this will be a nice 'problem' to have, And-o really thinks that this merits some serious consideration!

And-o thinks that Begin (if/when ready to go) could get bumped over to the wing...but would you sit Sunny given his defensive talents???

...and surely Gainey wouldn't sit Bulis or Zeddy now???  Would he???

...if And-o were deciding right now...Perezhogin would be heading up to the pressbox!

Tough call though!!!

Well I don't think it is a secret I have an AB on Downey like dislike for Bulis.  I thought he looked out of place last night.  I would agree with you though, that Perz. should be the one out of the lineup when Begin comes back.

Yes, I like that pick. I think I would stick with Murray/ Bonk and Sunny and put Begin with Plek and Zed( in place of perez).

Personally, I think Bonk and Begin have great chemistry, I would send Sunny back up to pressbox city as to not disrupt the other lines.

By the way And-o, I think this is a great thread you have started. It is relevant and gives insight into how strategically people think on this board.

Funny how my little post with the word Koivu in it generated more "craziness" than this thread.

Again, great topic.

Why on earth Sunny (AB )after a great game from him? Against this fast Carolina team, I think smart neutral zone play is crucial...and Sunny is really good at it.

I'm basing it on if the team keeps performing well and is successful, than why disturb the other lines. On that bases, it's either Murray or Sunny to sit and I think Gainey would keep Murray playing.

I'd say move Murray up to the third line and sit Perezhogin. I was looking for him to be the guy out of nowhere who suddenly hits it big in the playoffs, but he was making rookie mistakes the other night, unlike every other forward it seems.

I didn't see the game though, basing it on Wilson and Moffatt's analysis.

As for Bulis, he is the only guy on the second line who really dances around with speed. He does a lot for Ribeiro and Kovalev, and although he doesn't rack up the points, he creates space all over the place. He's useful on that line.

And what about Sundstrom and Bonk? I can't see Begin hurting that line. I LOVE that we have a hot 4th line right now...always key in the playoffs.

If I was the coach Perez would be eating hotdogs in the press box as soon as begin gets back. He has contributed VERY little to the cause and, in my opinion, CJ did the right thing sending this guy back to Hamilton earlier in the season. He has shown me that he needs another year in the minor sto work on his defensive game, among other things. On a side note, unless latendresse is hurt, I am shocked that they did not call him up after his Jr team got eliminated if, for nothing else, to practice and be around the team,

If and when begin comes back I think Sundstrom will sit..he won't have another game like the first in the second game...and Perezhogin, Zed and Pleks play too well together to dump that line.

That is unless Garth....does something dumb in the next few games...but imagine the energy of a Murray, Begin, Bonk line in this series...Heck we might finally see some hitting.
