I am, I'm not going to look for any fault with a 6-1 win...let's hope we can do it again Monday!

Nice Huna, plus are there really faults in a 6-1 win? Oh a 6-1 playoff win none the less.

Ok...one or two concerns. Defensemen having trouble clearing the zone, Souray in particular. Glad he got a goal to make up for it.

Also, both the first two lines had their issues: 1st line not generating enough offense and 2nd line continually caught up on Carolina counterattacks (they were not dominant.... although Kovalev had some individually dominant moments for sure!).

Both Ribeiro and Koivu lost the puck a lot in the offensive zone, but Ribeiro does not get back when he gives it up down the middle, and that hurts us more. Fortunately Koivu is a solid defensive player.

Ryder showing signs of life is a very good thing though.

Certainly happy with the result Jean, But as a guy who knows hockey very well I am not happy with the effort. Unlike rp2le, I did not see the game as a dominant performance by the habs. They were outplayed at mostly every position, except in goal where it counts. Huet, as he needs to be, was the best penalty killer, especially on the 5 on 3. We will see a vastly different Canes team Monday night. Batton down the hatches boys..a storm is coming.

Do you really think they were outplayed though Barry? I dunno. I don't think the Hurricanes coach is telling his players that today. They were outshot, but most shots were not dangerous ones. They started with a bad 10 minutes or so, (plus the 5 on 3 later), and Huet kept them in, but mostly the Hurricanes got more and more frustrated and Montreal more and more confident. It didn't matter so much that Montreal didn't take a lot of shots, because they got their lead and then stuck to the plan. In many ways it was exactly what you would want to see against a team like the Hurricanes.

Plouf- I am not trying to sound pessimistic. But if you look at the QUALITY of the goals that were scored by Montreal you need to wonder how many would have gone in against a dcent goalie.

1) The Bonk Goal- upstairs..but really from that far out should be stopped

2) Higgins goal- no goalie in the NHL should allow a puck to be banked in off his ass

3) First Kovalev goal- far side was wayyyyy wide open.

It may have been wide open, but there are not alot of goalies who would stop that shot. It was like a guided missle

4) the Bouillon wrist shot, unscreened, from the point. Any Junior B goalie should have stopped that one.

In fact, all six goals were very stoppable (second Kovalev one was the only credtable one); the Habs should hope for, but not expect, a repeat performance by Gerber.

The one off the ass could have happen to anyone. It's easy to take a snap shot of the errors around the nets, but if you analyze how the pucks got to the net to start with, then you would have to question why any of these guys are playing pro-hockey. I'm just happy that we have the victory under our belt, and prayin that Huet doesn't allow one off his backside tonight. This is a game of errors, and the Habs were lucky that the Canes didn't capitalize on some of our blatant defensive errors as well. Me is Happy
