Beliveau Slighted
(Preview)
Was anyone else insulted by the low percentage of votes Jean Beliveau received (I think around 14%) in the TSN poll during the Colorado/Habs game? The question was to vote for the greatest captain of all time; the candidates were Beliveau, Gretzky, Messier, Yzerman, and a couple of others I ca...

What we have for an on ice product
(Preview)
Well now that the coaching issue is resovled for now, I think we can all take a look at the on ice talent we are left with and evaluate. Do we really. regardless of who is coaching, have the talent to be a playoff team this year? And if so, how far will we get? I think that realistically, if Gainey can get somet...

What I like about CJ most!!
(Preview)
He doesn't pull the slandering players to the media bit! That never works with NHL players as they want the respect before they return it on the ice!
Poor Therien! His team totally blew it against Blue Jackets! Was it on purpose? I watched the highlites and it sure looked that way as the D...

Habs need new core group of players
(Preview)
The results of the Montreal this season, is the result of the core group of players not performing up to standard. Which if the Habs fail to make the playoffs this year, should result in some sweeping changes in this core group. That means it starts with S. Koivu, J. Theodore, R. Zednik and...

what motivated Huet
(Preview)
After a performance the team showed against Colorado, what motivates a goalie to play his heart out again.
If I was Huet I wouldn't give a crap either if the team in front of me played like they did.

From Belarus to best in league
(Preview)
http://www.thelondoner.ca/sport/index.htm London Knights rookie sensation Sergei Kostitsyn, a native of Belarus, is shy in public – partly because he’s just learning English – but he’s grace under pressure on the ice. He finds the Canadian game faster and tougher, but he’s adapting quickly. S...

From TSN's website 2005/01/13 2:00 PM:
According to the Ottawa Sun, if the Canadiens are considering dealing G Jose Theodore, the Vancouver Canucks might be interestd, and the Habs would likely want Todd Bertuzzi in exchange. With Cristobal Huet getting back-to-back starts recently, T...

Denis next year???
(Preview)
Does anyone else think that Jan Denis is gonna be our #1 netminder next year. Good idea to let him finish the year down in Hamilton. I liked watching this guy play, and for a goalie who didn't prove himself yet, i was somewhat comfortable with him playing. I think next year he'll be ou...

A thought about rumours
(Preview)
I know they're fun, but sometimes rumours, when your team is performing as poorly as we are, remind me of sitting in a bar, half glazed, thinking the cute girl on the other side of the room has been checking me out for the last hour, when in fact it's the rerun of "Good Times" on the TV behind me that has had he...

Huet in for 3rd straight start - is HE being showcased?
(Preview)
We've probably all seen the reports and many are assuming it is because we don't want to risk hurting Jose and losing trade value. What about if Huet is getting time so we can increase his value? Everyone wants a good goalie these days.

Canadiens general manager Bob Gainey has apparently seen enough. With just three wins in their last 12 games, the Habs have fallen down the ranks and out of a playoff spot.
