Lets take a look at the western conference who may just be looking to make some trades to jump back into the playoff talks....


Mighty Ducks....i heard talks of Gigure becoming available, i went to there website and read some of there message board talks, and they were saying a 3way trade....theo to van, bert to ducks, giggy to habs.  I rather bert.


Wild.....they could use some added scoring, what about a zednik, they have some size i'm sure we could use: Marc Chouinard..6"5 center, only 28yrs old, or Pascal Dupuis...good ole french boy, only 6 foot but he is young.


Blue Jackets.....here's a team with lack of scoring....Jason Chimera..6"2 left winger, we lack the LW's...and lack size...also Jody Shelly...6"4 rough and tough, i like the sounds of a guy like this in a habs jersey, send him in the center of a ruccus, not Rivet or Souray where they'll get penalties and be short D men on the ice, and thats where they have to play guys like Streit, (who shouldn't even be with the club) more often.


Blackhawks....we heard the rumors about Bell, Calder etc....well i like those guys, there big and can play the game. 


The bottom line of this is, i like to see some size come to this club, possibly a center, if not definately a winger, we need that size up front.  Bonk, Kovalev, Murray and Ferland are the only forwards over 6"2....Kovi is the only one with scoring talent, and thats only if he wants to come out and play that night, he might be there skating around, but is he playing in the same game as the rest of our boys.  We need that size, so we can stop getting pushed off the puck, and stop getting hit around...the only hits coming from this team are from our D and a few guys like Begin, Higgins...i can't think of anymore.

You are right, we don't want Giggy, we want Bert.


Zednik is one of the Habs best, no way do they trade him.


Chicago won't move any of their young guys.


Bonk is over 6'2", but plays like a little girl.


I don't think we want too many of the boys that you mention...we have enough players who can't score as it is.

 Could you imagine trading to Canucks and not ending up with Bert but Giguere! That trade would haunt us like the Bonk trade. Don't do it Gainey! Get Bert!


 Giguere like Theo has struggled big time since his playoff run!


 Also have to disagree on Zed! Don't think he has adapted to the new NHL and has not been effective especially with the puck hogging and no pass with one hand on the stick bit! I say lose him if the trade is right!

Zed was hot when he came back from injury, but you are correct - he hasn't been that effective lately.  Still I love to see him in the corners and making himself wide with the puck.  He looks like a mini-Jagr out there (sans the amazing hands, goal scoring ability and 100+point seasons).


I think Bert would be incredible in a Habs jersey...he is EXACTLY what the Habs need.  A fresh start may get him going again, although he still has more points that any Hab and people say he isn't producing.
