RUMOURS!!!! Theo to Van
Permalink Closed

From TSN's website 2005/01/13 2:00 PM:

According to the Ottawa Sun, if the Canadiens are considering dealing G Jose Theodore, the Vancouver Canucks might be interestd, and the Habs would likely want Todd Bertuzzi in exchange.  With Cristobal Huet getting back-to-back starts recently, Theodore's name becomes only more active on the trade front.

The Ottawa Sun also ays the Canadiens' current state of disarray has GM Bob Gainey willing to trade just about anybody, including C Mike Ribiero, D Craig Rivet, D Sheldon Souray and D Mike Komisarek. The paper reports that the Capitals are interested in Ribiero as a setup man for super rookie Alexander Ovechkin.

I hope there's some truth to this! Can you imagine big Bert in a Habs uniform?

Yup, I'd do that in a heartbeat!  I believe both teams would win with that trade.  Bert would probably like to get a new start in a different city, and Theo needs to re-focus in order to "try" to get to the level some think he can play consistently at.

If this happens, just bear in mind he'll end up with about 70 assists in a year, so don't go saying "we gave up on him too soon".  He's still a big fancy-boy, and the thing is - we don't have an Ovechkin on our team!

For sure Ribeiro would come back to bite us in the a*s but he's doing nothing for us.  Him and Ovechkin could be a deadly combo.  Who would you want from Washington though?  Halpern and Witt?

Maybe Friesen and Witt? And as far as ribs, he might come back to bite us in the ass, but he sure is dragging his in Montreal!

But not when he's wearing a brand new gangsta suit.  Wouldn't want to get any grease on the shiny material, and putting a sharp crease in the pleats of those things is a bitch.
