Canada Vs. Russia - 2:30pmET - Olympic Hockey
(Preview)
So, because I have the flu from hell, I am lucky enough to be able to watch and/or listen to this game right here at home.
The skinny on this game is this: the loser goes home.[img]http://www.sportslogos.net/Site/images/teams/primaries/6934.gif[/img...

Pass the Vodka...
(Preview)
If Brodeur doesn't have the best game in his international career today, I don't see how Canada will defend such an Russian offense. Kovalev / Konawalchuk / Datsuk...makes me dizzy just typing those names. As for the Canadian defense, well, good luck.

By the Numbers: Theodore's injury
(Preview)
(2006-02-18 20:46 posted by B. La Rose)
In case you haven't heard yet, Canadiens G Jose Theodore will miss the next 6-8 weeks after suffering a broken heel on Thursday night while walking down the stairs outside his home. It's just another bad thing to happen to him this season, aside from les...

Olli Jokinen
(Preview)
Some time ago we speculated that if BG could/should sing Olli Jokinen from free agent markets or trade him before deadline. Here is little foretaste what it takes to trade him or sing from free agent markets, I said that BG donīt have that much money that is needed to sing OJ and Habs donīt have suitabl...

What lack of leadership
(Preview)
The Canadiens have 6 players playing in the Olympics. of which, three are team captains for their respective hockey squad. Saku Koivu (Findland), Mark Streit (Switzerland), Alex Kovalev (Russia).
And these captains, expecially Koivu and Streit are extremely respected byb thei...

Wither Jan Bulis?
(Preview)
I saw Bulis shaking hands with the Canucks today after the game, but I can't say I ever heard his name during the game.
Was he on the bench the entire game? I see he has -0- points so far; is he being benched? (And he was the Habs' best player of late!)
What gives? Anyone know the scoo...

Why Isn't Ryder Signed Long Term?
(Preview)
Rumors say he wants out. That's a bunch of crap. Other rumors say they may trade him for the likes of a Brad Richards. Ok, I admit he hasn't been as consitent this year but he has the best shot on the team and he one-times his shots. That's sniper-mentality. He'll never get 50 but can you sign him to a long ter...

Inside the Dressing Room
(

(Preview)
As many of you know, I am a close friend of Claude Juliens..now the richest unemployed coach in the NHL lol. Because of this I was privy to many of the goings on in the inner sanctum of the Habs. What goes on in the dressing room, likes/dislikes, etc....most of which I will not repeat ever because CJ needs t...

Playing well for Canada!
I think this guy will be top ten centermen within a couple years in the NHL!
He's in his fifth season and has been improving every season with this season going to be his best. Has 60 points in 58 games thus far. What I also like about him, is in 5 seasons, he...

Names of Goalies who could possibly relpace Jose Theodore
(

(Preview)
I could throw out some names, and you guys could split hairs on the contracts and the money involved, but the time is approaching, soon I might add, when Theodore will be couriered outta town.
Who do you feel could be a viable replacement as our new starter?
Let's drop some names people.

Accumulating points - Koivu
(Preview)
Here's a little positivity sent Koivu's way. I've seen every Finnish game. I've also seen Koivu play with the Habs for the last 10 years or so. The fact that I've seen him so often...he shouldn't really impress me when he plays well. We all expect that from him.
However, I have been impressed to see him...

(Preview)
With the last part of the season coming up after the Olympics, we have 26 games left. Our last season we finished with 93 points. We currently have 60. Meaning to beat our previous years total we need to win at least 17 games. 17 of 26? think its possible???

(Preview)
One team in 'Pool B' of men's Olympic hockey is currently cruising along the road to a top seeding in the round robin format.
They are happy no doubt...almost giddy perhaps...at the prospect of facing a weaker team from 'Pool A' later this week in a "ho hum" game.
...then...suddenly...

After watching the first 4 games of the Round Robin at the Games, Gretz and his gang must be wondering why they selected Draper and Smyth and left out (not even as subs) Sidney Crosby and Patrice Bergeron. XM172 - Habs Radio
(Preview)
It's great to have an almost-all Habs radio some of the time on XM Radio Channel 172, "Franc Parler." It should have been named "Habs Parler" or "Les Problemes de Cheveux aux Gardiens du TriColours." The latter title might have been too long for the radio's tagging capabilities, though.
To hear a...

Remembering Terry Ryan-A Hab Fans Moment
(Preview)
Ryan had a paradoxical relationship with Montreal. On one hand he was the first Newfoundlander to paly for the Habs (only in 1996), yet he was shafted by the team in a way that has made him resolute in his desire never to play for them again.
In his WHL days with Tri-City, Ryan suffered a concussion and s...

Hockey's Greatest Quotes
(Preview)
Some of the stuff the players, coaches and affiliates say, is enough to make you smile sometimes.
My first quote:
"I play a position where you make mistakes. The only people who don't make them at a hockey game are the ones watching."
