The Flu.

Anyone else have the Flu this season? I have never had a flu shot cause i just don't trust it.

Anyway, I got the flu now and it is sucking LARGE.

Any remedies? Does chicken soup REALLY work? What a crock...I can't taste anything, so even if it's a concauction of crap thrown together, it won't really matter. My temperature is a whopping 500 degrees and I'm rolled up into a ball in the corner with a blanket and a crate of Kleenex. The pile of used Kleenex is accumulating...

This sucks. And daytime T.V. (except for Olympic Hockey, I guess) is so bad.

Anyone? Flu? Somebody?

At thr first sign of a posible cold coming on, I take a ferw Cold eze losenges throughout the day. It usually notice the cold does not settle in and i will have minor symptoms for only a day. My mother told me about them. I know people laugh at me when I tell them, but they always work for me. I guess its the Zinc in them.

It's too late for Cold FX for me, Barry. I'm just wrecked.

Tylenol and rest maybe?

As long as it's not the Boobird of Unhappiness.  Now that was very bad....not even funny.  Hang in there.  Rest, keep warm and plenty of fluids is about all you can do.  If you are going to take a cold remedy.....try to stay away from the really sugary ones.  Advil Extra Strength Gel caps work really good for headache, fever.

98.6 is normal.  Usually you only have to worry about a fever if it gets past 101/102 or if it lasts too long.  That's where the fluids and Tylenol/Advil come in.

Too late now, but as Barry stated, Echinacea works when you first get signs of something coming up (sniffles, scratchy throat, stuffy head).  20 drops or so in a glass of water, go to bed, and next day you're back to 100%.  At least it works for me, and has worked dozens of times over the past 15  years or so.  And it tastes like Hell, so gobble it down quickly!

I also used Cold FX for the first time a few weeks ago, and it seemed to work as well (Barry and I must use the same advisors!).

However, now that you have the flu, it's too late for those preventative measures, so drink plenty of fluids (maybe Neo Citran) and get some rest.  Tylenol for aches and pains.  I find a hot bath helps; sweat it out.

Dr. Nil d signing off.................

Hmm... I never knew of such products. I would just see the initial symptoms and groan because I knew I had a flu coming on. So I will definitely look into that.
