recchi
(Preview)
Habs will need more scoring punch to ensure they make the playoffs, and get past the 1st round.
Could Recchi be the answer? he's a good pall of Saku, and has scoring punch.
Would folks like to see the old guy back in a habs uniform?

Trade deadline predictions (non-Habs only)
(closed)
(Preview)
For those who wish to discuss other teams trading, here's where to do it. Will Toronto hold a firesale when they are out of the race? McCabe, Sundin on the move? Will anyone help Chicago rebuild? Anyone want a good goalie, there are plenty out there (for the right price)

The PK!
(Preview)
Gainey and Carbo have made MAJOR improvements to the PK! The unit seems to be far more aggressive blocking shots and getting right out to cover the points and challenge the puck carrier. They act like they actually want the puck...versus merely waiting for the goaltender to bail...

Huet #1!!!!!!!!!
(Preview)
Reading up on the goalie stats this afternoon...........
Who's Number 1 in the NHL in Save Percentage? None other than our very own Crystal Ball Huet! At .929, he's just ahead of New York's Henrik Lunqvist (.927) and the Dominator (.925).
His GAA of 2.26 puts him at #6 overall...

Road Trip Question
(Preview)
The Habs have 6 points in three games of a six game road trip. Is this road trip successful already? Or, will it take 7, 8, 9 points to make it a successful trip in your opinion? At this point and time of the season (23 games left - 4 points up on 9th place) I think they need 9 points to keep ahead of the pack. Espe...

The five Habs 'most likely traded by Friday' list...
(Preview)
Feel free to contribute your 'two cents' to this shot at a list of the five Habs 'most likely traded by Friday':
#1 Most likely...Niklas Sundstrum (how many PK guys does one team need?)
#2...Richard Zednik (he is worth something...but not enough to the Habs)
#3...Sheldon Souray (fathe...

If Gainey lands a top two line winger...
(Preview)
...I guess either Perezhogin or Higgins get bumped back to the third line???
And-o has seen and heard every Bertuzzi rumor...but And-o just doesn't see a huge benefit to upgrading the wing considering the other more pressing needs on this roster!
Why not go for a top d-man...and, of course, dept...

How I measure our D
(Preview)
Remember the first part of the season when Boullion was probably our second or third best D? Now we don't notice him as much. Not because he's playing worse but because our other guys are now playing better as they should. We now look like we have at least an average D in this league!

The problem with winning!
(Preview)
These guys are coming together and playing for each other now! If Prospal is going to play with a sword, then he better be prepared to use it! Love how they protected Huet tonight!
The problem now comes with the trade deadline around the corner! AB is becoming too at...

Game Thread| Montreal @ Tampa Bay| March 4th, 2006
(Preview)
Montreal has earned a point in 7 straight games and are trying to make that push to stay in the top 8. A win against Tampa would not only bring us within 2 of Tampa, we also have a game in hand. I win for us and a loss for New Jersey would also bring us 3 points back of 6th. Shouldnt look too far ahead though, We hav...

My one deal
(Preview)
If I could make one trade, it would be with Phoenix. I would want Morris (Big, puck-moving, physical right-D), Johnson (Fast, skilled, two-way, right-shooting Center/Winger with good size) and either Ricci or Scatchard. If we could work out a deal with Morris before the trade is finalized, I would...

Nil d - 1778
(Preview)
I realize that for the next while, you can probably refer to something in Acadian/Maritime/Canadian history, but, since you are at 1778, may I suggest a rousing rendition of Barrrett's Privateers?

Rivet - Finally!
(Preview)
When was the last time you saw a Habs D come to the aid of a goaltender? When I saw Rivet almost take Prospals' head off in the third because of something Prospal did to Huet in the previous, it made my hands go up in the air and scream "finally"...
The Habs are finding a way to win...

Anyone see Bertuzzi's Goal?
(Preview)
Highlight of the night, Stick between the legs and shoots it in from the top of the crease. Not as pretty as Maliks but still nice!! But how about that goal from Los Angelas the other night!!! From 1 knee after being hauled down on the break away, he roofs it!!! Wow!!!

24 games left
(Preview)
There are 24 games left in the Habs season. 14 home games and 10 away games. IMO the Habs need to go 13-11 in these 24 to squeeze into the playoffs. If they can split the next 4 games they should be in good shape. Their schedule is quite good after this road trip.
