Respect
(Preview)
Ok. I feel that I need to address this silliness as it seems to have gotten way out of hand and I feel that I may have started this whole "leaving the board" thing. My intention when I did thatwas to try to give everyone here a wake up call, including myself. I felt that the posts were getting way too personal...

Rivet, Souray, Markov and Niinnima
(Preview)
Ok boys and girls, now these four defenceman will be UFA after this year. If you were BG, who do you keep if possible and what kind of contracts are you handing out?
Personally, I try to keep three at a reasonable cost. I think Rivet should get a 3 yr deal worth 7.5 million. Souray a 3yr deal worth 9 million...

Interesting stat - or not
(Preview)
The Habs were 7-3-1 (15 points) at this time last year. Currently we are 6-2-3 so 15 points as well.
The interesting part is that last year we went 6-0-2 in our next 8 games including back to back wins over Buffalo.
I'm pretty sure we won't match that this year but then again there was a brutal stretch l...

70th Straight Regular Season Sellout for Habs!
(Preview)
All i can say is way to go people! 21,273 everynight, just shows why we are the best fans in the league. Now i have to be bitter for a moment here.
I was a huge Expos fan, and they took our team away blaming the fans for poor attendance, even though they traded every start player we ever had.
So with that sa...

Lats looking better
(Preview)
It just a matter of time guys!
How about a couple power moves driving to the net off the boards after fighting for the puck. Some good hits again. Actually didn't look out of place on that line. Good chemistry from every line tonight.
Abby's best game of the season also.

Temporary Experiment for Kovy - Let's Hope
(Preview)
First of all, prior to yesterday's game, I was reading several local newspapers articles about Kovy starting at center. I must say that his quotes were surprising.
He said that he would play any position excluding goaltender, in order to help the team. It sounded like he meant it...

NHL commissioner for the day
(Preview)
Some things I would change/implement if I were commissioner for the day.
1) Institute no touch icing. At some point there is going to be a career ending injury if the present system is not changed.
2) eliminate the unbalanced schedule. I know the league is trying to promote rivalvalries, b...

From canadiens.com
(Preview)
I swear this is from canadiens.com:
Outshot…so what?: In their 10 games thus far, the Canadiens have been outshot on seven occasions. This hasn’t hindered the Canadiens’ success where it counts the most: on the scoreboard. In those games, Montreal is undefeated in regulation with...

New Lines?
(Preview)
Are these the new pairings? If so I like.
Higgins-Koivu-Ryder
Samsonov-Kovalev-Pez
Begin-Bonk-Johnson
Latendresse-Plekanec-Downey/Murray
Am I off base here? I like these lines, if Pez can produce, it gives us a real grinding third line, and Guy gets to play with someone with a littl...

Showcasing Abby or hiding Huet injury?
(Preview)
I don't think Montreal gave Huet the kind of money and terms they did to sitting on the bench and I'm a bit confused as to why Abby has been getting so much playing time - it' must be hard for Huet to get into a groove.
Maybe Huet is hurt and/or maybe Gainey/Carbo are showcasing Abby?
