Pangs Holds Huet Responsible for Screens
(Preview)
What do you think?
Some interesting analysis on TSN by Darren Pang regarding the screen goals on Huet. He says goalies normally know who is out there so if a shot is coming from a right shooting defenceman the goalie should look around the bodies in front to the left because that's where the sho...

Semi Finals!!
(Preview)
Can't wait looks like some great matchups. My predictions.
BUF vs OTT = Ottawa in 6. Too much firepower even though Emery is mediocre.
NJ vs CAR = New Jersey in 5 or 6. Brodeur outdueling Ward and too much experience/gamebreakers on NJ.
EDM vs SJ = Wow tough pick, I will go with Sharks in 6 or 7.

A Nasty Profit for Gillett
(Preview)
Reports confirm that the Montreal Canadiens Hockey Club has increased it's value in the passed few years. Gillett bought the team for 180 million in 2001 and the team is valued at 230 million....
50 mill in less than 5 years. I guess the new CBA is going to make many club owners many $$$

Get rid of....

Call me crazy but I think we should take 2 years to rebuild with our young guys - get rid of some guys, trade away to get cap room and sign some free agents.
Get Rid of...
Bulis, Ribs, Zednik, Bonk, Sunny, Streit
Make room for some young guns. Sign Jason Arnott, and Ed Jovanski

Habs need a sniper
(Preview)
Bottom line should we make the second round or not the Habs desperately need a bona fida NHL sniper.
I hope Gainey inserts Kostitsyn in the lineup instead of Downey or Sundstrom in the hopes he can provide some goal scoring.
All of our best goal scorers are not top line threats, Ryder, Zed, Higgs (no...

Wow!
(Preview)
Ryder fails to do what he learned in peewee and that is get the puck deep for a line change and they score a greasy goal to end our season. WE need to address our utter lack of scoring......aka....a sniper. We need to send Bulis, Riberio, and Zednik packing. I was impres...

Huet - How Hi-et would you go?
(Preview)
He's a free agent the Star says could command $2 to $2.5M.
To me $2Ms a no brainer, $2.5M yes - even $3M. Higher? I personally wouldn't roll the dice on him.
At $2.5M - the Habs are saying we like you, Huet's saying I like you back. Habs shouldn't get sucked into a bidding war.

Management Adjustments - Gainey is GM and Carbo is the Coach
(Preview)
I think we can say that it's official now. Gainey goes back to his full-time role as GM and Carbo is the Head Coach.
The role of GM is crucial at this point. Gainey must come up big this off season. He has a heck of a lot on his plate. So many issues but it's good to have options.
Carbo has completed his trai...

What a party!!
(Preview)
With the refs and the "fates" conspiring against them the Habs battled to the end. The best moment of the night was seeing Saku in the corrdor and hearing Muller speak about what playing for the Habs means... it's the toughest place to play, its the sweetest place to win the Cup... some guys thrive on it,...

Well, well, and...well. Listening to the post series interviews with both Gainey and Kovalev, it appears that the honeymoon is over. First of all, Kovalev was NOT, I repeat NOT injured. When he only played sparingly in game 4 and 5 it was NOT because he was hurt..he was benched and being sent a message b...
