Top 8 in the East
(Preview)
Ok., No wthat the dust is almost settled, lets put a very early prediction on what you think the East will shape up like this year. I sort of did it in another post. I feel that these teams are a lock to make the playoffs. Ottawa, Jersey, Buffalo, Rangers, Philly, Carolina. Those are your top 6 spots guaran...

This is not at all hockey related, but since most of us on here are "friends" of some kind, I fealt I would share my good news with all of you. For the past year I have been working long hours, helping my work with the largest launch we have had in our 20 year history. MC and myself have had many di...

I sent an e-mail to Dan Linn who covers the Habs' prospects about who might be ready for this season. Here is his reply.

It's something to consider although it would be very tough to do since it's close to impossible to know what Gainey is thinking. My personal guess is that more guy...

Who's next on the wish list?
(Preview)
After the horrible disapointment that turned out to be Brendan Shanahan, I have to move to who is next on my wish list. I can't believe it has gotten this bad. The day before UFA's were available, Shanny wasn't even on my radar. Now I have moved on, next on my wish list is Petr Sykora.&...

The Montreal Canadiens have locked up one of their key young players for next season, as forward Chris Higgins has agreed to a one-year contract with the team.
Higgins, 23, will earn $673,000 in 2006-07.
He was one of the team's most consistent scorers in the second half of last season, and scored...

And-o just wanted to share a cool thing heard this week on local sports radio about Scotty Bowman's philosophy of winning in the 'new' NHL!
Basically...according to Bowman...perennial contenders will need to have drafted a minimum of 10 players on their active roster...and about half of thes...

I was incharge of flight AC 388 (montreal-Boston) tonight, and low and behold, Brendan Shanahan was on the flight. I was able to get a few quick words in with him before leaving for Boston. And-o thinks that Bob Gainey only maybe covets one or two UFA's. Other than that, he is clearly dedicated to developing this organization almost exclusively from within.

The Worst $1.9 Million Ever Spent

I can't believe Gainey gave that stiff Riberio $1.9 million. How the hell did he deserve a raise that significant? What a genious move to do, right before Ryder goes to Arrbitration - Gainey will definetly end up losing that case, and over paying Ryder now. AND if Ryder losses, he'...
