I doubt very highly he will be here. I think Boston or Detroit. I agree that it would be great to land him though!

Won't go to Boston, they don't have the room for him with their recent signings, and the RFA status of Bergeron.  If Boston signs Shanny it would be dumb as anyone can then snatch up Patrice.

Shanahan, Umberger, Cloutier, and the Wings, McClennan to Calgary

Today @ 10:41 AM ET | Comments (0)

Look for Montreal to jump into the Brendan Shanahan sweeps today....He is reportedly asking around 5.2 per, and that is getting tough for Boston given their current position....A day after RJ Umberger filed for Arbitration the Flyers have signed the talented center. I like this move, RJ is a star in the making and may surpass Carter and Richards in points this year...not the boldest of statements, but you heard it here...In goalie news....The Kings pick up of Cloutier could turn out to be a better deal than people expect. I like the move for both teams. Dan may surprise some people...I hope he does, because he is a great guy who needed a change...goalies have been known to go for change. Word on the street fromthree sources, is that IF the wings re-sign Shanahan, look for them to trade for Giguere. Apparently, there is a deal to be made, but it would require a forward from the Wings that depth-wise they can not lose unless Brendan were to return...I will be holding a Chat today at 4pm ET for all season ticket holders...So come on by....

The Habs have been on shanny's short list all along. With the bruins being the other, where his offseason home is. Shanny did the same thing two yrs ago and resigned with the Wings. The wings have offered 1yr. at 4m. That's a nice raise from last yrs $2.28m. Or two yrs at a lower rate. Lindstrom didn't take his max. He wanted to give the team more room. As did others. He should have learned something from #19. It's not about the $$$$$, itis about THE CREST. I am a Wing fan also and would like to see him return.

But if he doesn't resign, as much as i would love to see him in a Habs uniform...I think we go for gagne, give up some picks and piss the hell out of Clarke!

As for Giguere, he's not going to the Wings. Holland will not give up the young guys. Or they would have landed Loungo. Belfour was being checked out by team doctors wed. and Holland is looking to sigh him to a 1 yr $500,000 contract. They have Osgood and last yrs 1st pick Jimmy Howard is very close to being ready.

Sick and tired of all B.S., B.G> GET IT DONE (gagne 26yrs old !) or try the same move with N.J. I like Kozlov,Peca, chouinard(min)avail? also J. Wooley (Det) good puck moving d-man we could get cheap.

KEEP THE FAITH HABS FANS!

It looks like there are few spots left for Aebischer. One spot could be Florida, so how about Aebischer and Souray as the main parts of a package for RFA Bouwmeester?
