CJ's days were numbered
(Preview)
CJ's time as a coach were numbered the year that Gainey became GM at the time. Gainey never wanted CJ as the coach and was going to let him go before the last full season of hockey. This was always known. I have no problems with CJ he is a class act and stuck up for his players - this...

Why the deferred coaching move?
(Preview)
Does anyone (barry?) have a good answer as to why Carbonneau has been named coach for next year, when we still have 40 games left in this one? Why not put him in now? If it's to give him experience, to ease him in slowly, then how can they make the decision today that he'll be coach next year whe...

Kind of off topic
(Preview)
This year is going to be my first year eligible to vote. (I missed last year by 1 week) And I was wondering what type of input I can get from the people on this board. I'm already leaning in one direction, but I'd like to hear what some of the people here have to think and maybe allow me to have a clear choice.

Today's move was a good one
(Preview)
This was a good move for the team and the future. CJ was a good coach who was liked by his players but wasn't able to get everything out of them. I wish him the best of luck for the future.
With Carbo behind the bench we have a proven leader who won't allow players to take the night off. If they try they will be...

Kudos to Bob...
(Preview)
...at least he is man enough to take the wheel himself...because CJ was just plain out of ideas...and Rick Green's choices surrounding the defensive personnel were bizarre at times!
However, I will say that CJ did try EVERYTHING to get this team winning again!
And-o is content to sit back and wat...

How serious..
(Preview)
I know time will tell but I wonder if the players take this to heart or just assume Gainey and Carb have wanted to do this for a long time! How serious do they take the termination of two good men?

(Preview)
The sad thing to me also is the fact that I have lost alot of respect for many of the players on this roster! To name some that I thought would make a difference from our last season...Souray, Kovy, Ribs, Zed, Theo and to a small degree Saks because we needed someone to unify the dressing room and tha...

Gainey for how long?
(Preview)
Gainey calls himself the "interim" coach, correct? Anyone know how long "interim" is? A week? A month? The rest of the season?
Another thing; does anyone else find it odd that he fired the defensive coach (I can agree with that one), but kept the goal...

Not to sound corny but!!
(Preview)
I have been sitting here all day since the news broke. This must have been the news conference that did not happen yesterday. Its like you almost feel like someone died. Deep in my heart I think CJ is a talented coach. He will take some other NHL team and do wonders. He will do it because he knows he can. He wi...

Theo tonight?

I read that Theo will get the start tonight. Is Gainey an idiot or something? Theo is horrible. He would be great on a beer leauge team, but my god, has this guy made back to back saves on anyone but Rapheal?

Depressing Day
(Preview)
It is raining quite heavily today in Montreal and it seems quite appropriate. It is hard being a fan of a team with a make-up, maybe a vision, that does not match your own. We had a huge opportunity this summer to re-make this team. We could buy-out players and not have it count agains...

Whats next?
(Preview)
OK, I think the big question is what does Gainey do next? I think he made the right move here, but I have been wrong before. Now if he sits on his hands any longer we are done for the year. I dont think Julien is at fault for our lack luster play lately, but he did not fit in with this team.&n...

(Preview)
Not the respect associated with his character but respect to make good hockey decisions. Bring back Sam Pollack please lol. He has made decisions (Bobk, Garon) that made my blood boil. He does not impress me at all any more. Guy behind the bench will not change anything with this group of childish kids...

These high paid players should stay home instead of playing in Olympics
(Preview)
All these high paid players (who are not living up to their side of the bargain) should stay home and have a mid season training camp to improve their play. These players pulling down the big salaries and playing lousy need some more training and practice. Never mind some are subject to injury like Koiv...

So there was a rumor coming from Toronto that Theo was headed to Vancouver for Bertuzzi. I smiled when i read this. Why, cause Bob will be all over that trade. Throw something else in there too, like Theodore + Zednik for Bertuzzi, Auld, Cooke. Would it be nice to see the big fe...

I for one am scared s#$tless trading Theo. On the eve of the dreaded Patrick Roy deal - trading Theo will haunt us for another 10 years.
