Avery got what was coming to him
(Preview)
He talks about guys going around the league wearing visors and hitting people and not doing anything to back it up...well what about Avery. He goes around, plays dirty, shoots his mouth off and doesn't seem to back it up either. Here's a video of him landing a hit from behind on Kariya then getting what h...

Coaching!
(Preview)
Most agree that CJ has done a good job thus far. My question to you all is, how much of a factor is having Jarvis as a right hand man?
Is he a players coach?

Who will be back next year?
(Preview)
One of barry's posts got me thinking about next year. Who of the Habs will be back?
The obvious ones are:
Theo, Kovy, Souray, Dandy, Bonk and Rivet because of their contracts.
Then there are the kids who will be RFA:
Perez, Komi, Pleks, Higgs
What about the rest???
My guess is:
Bac...

French media and Ribeiro
(Preview)
He may be a beloved son, but even so, it's clear he's in trouble with everyone these days.
Here's an example:
"...Si Ribeiro et Ryder ne parviennent pas à se faire valoir en l’absence de Kovalev. Gainey n’aura d’autres choix que de chercher à les remplacer dans une futur rapproché. Il est de plus en...

Is CJ getting the boot?
(Preview)
I have been reading a lot of posts lately and there seems to be some rumour that CJ will be moving out of Montreal. I like what he has done with this team and I hope this does not become a reality. The team has gone through a rough stretch over the last 4 games but they just have to get back to basic...

Softs Spots

Just for fun, let's hear from you on this topic: Players who were not particularly good, or even noted as "unsung heroes", but for some reason, you had a soft spot for them. Here are some of mine from over 40 years of Hab fandom:

................et la troisieme etoile, the third star..............
(Preview)
Did anyone else think choosing Dagenais as third star was a joke? (Other than that writer from the "other Board"?)
Other than the shootout goal (and I would argue Theo's saves won the shootout more than Dagenais' goal), what did he do? Keep the bench warm for the other guys who actually...

Question?
(Preview)
Does anyone know the stats on shots on goal per team and where we sit?
It seems like we outshoot our competition by alot even in games we lose. A couple factors that probably contribute to this is we have the skill but no finish and our goalies are being outplayed on a regular bases!

Shootout tonight
(Preview)
I didn't catch who the shooters were for both sides. I only heard Dagenais score and Hossa miss. I thought that Montreal had last shot since the game is a Habs home game? Can someone tell me the shooters and the order?
Thanks

Sid the Kid 1, Ovech the Kin 0
(Preview)
Well, here's my weekly Sidney Crosby post! The first Washington/Pittsburg game (i.e. first meeting of rookie phenoms) went Sid's way - 1G 1A in a 5-4 win. Ovechkin had an assist. And what a goal Sidney scored - another "water bottle" backhand that undressed Ollie the Goalie.

BAD CALLS - the biggest obstruction?
(Preview)
At what point do these refs realize that calling too many penalties that "obstruct the natural flow" takes a lot of wind out of the sails of a game, destroying momentum on both sides...
I've seen so much great energy wasted this year because of this

Game review from other board
(Preview)
The game had about as much rhythm as a spastic drummer and as much action for two periods as a pimply 14-year old adolescent, but in the end a win is a win. This game was all about the power play, and Montreal beat Atlanta hands down. That's pretty important, since at five-on-five we were anemic. Other tha...
