Well, here's my weekly Sidney Crosby post!  The first Washington/Pittsburg game (i.e. first meeting of rookie phenoms) went Sid's way - 1G 1A in a 5-4 win.  Ovechkin had an assist.  And what a goal Sidney scored - another "water bottle" backhand that undressed Ollie the Goalie.

OK, back to regular programming...............

I thought that goal was nicer than his shootout goal because he had to split the D to do it. Many players can pull a move like that in a shootout because they have all the time in the world but not many can do what Sid did, great goal.

The kid's for real. He keeps coming up with big plays. Makes one wonder after a couple years experience, what he'll be capable of doing. I just hope he has a supporting cast as Gretzky did in Edm... Kurri, Coffee et al.

Good observation, NOHF.  His current teammates (Lemieux, Leclair, Recchi, etc.) are a bit on the older side.

Did you see Ovechkin's dekes when he hit one off the post though? That would have been right up there with Crosby's goal.

Not to mention Ovechkin's between the legs centring pass. The guy who scored the goal looked amazed himself.

He's a shooter, but after watching Crosby maybe he's realizing a killer pass is just as spectacular to watch.
