Les Trois Etoiles............
(Preview)
I just read the official scoresheet from last night's game, and the three stars were:
1 Svatos
2 Hejduk
3 Rivet
Hard to argue too much about Svatos - man that guy can motor! - but the fact that Huet was not even named a star after that performance is one of the great mysteries of life....

Hands of Sundstrom
(Preview)
If TSN still did their "TSN Turning Point" it would surely be when Niklas Sundstrom missed that open net with about 10 minutes to go and the Habs up 1-0. The puck might have hit something, or might have been bouncing, or he might have simply shot wide, I didn't see the replay enough times to t...

Shakeup Needed
(Preview)
Boy- I am glad I did not read all these posts before I went to bed last night lol. Alot of frustration being vented here and rightly so. I am, however, hoping that cooler heads prevail today and that the posts become more constructive and less emotional. I have some observations that I believe are based o...

How does Colorado have a leading rookie on their team
(Preview)
Colorado, year after year finishes high in the standings, Which means, they draft low year after year. So how do they land Marek Svatos, a leading rookie this season?
I tell you how. Good scouting!!! Svatos was drafted back in Year 2001, Round: 7, Pi...

Happy I didn't get too fired up
(Preview)
Yep, happy I didn't get too excited over the habs performance in Ottawa .....
1st period vs Avs just complete, habs outworked, outplayed, outmuscled and out chanced. Only bright spot is Huet looks sharp.
Ribs and Kovi both look like they're sleep walking. Ditto Bonk and Zed.
Koivu is tr...

someone remind me why we traded for Bonk
(Preview)
At this point I would take Riberio over Bonk anyday. At least Riberio gets some scoring for us.
Whats wrong with this team. Huet plays his heart out and the team responds with this pitiful effort.
What a mess - I am trying to keep my cool but April is approaching fast and there may be no playoffs fo...

(Preview)
That Huet smells blood in the water? He was okay in his first win against Ottawa (obviously good enough to win) and less than stellar the rest of his games, all without Theodore on the bench ready to take over. Now that Theo is being taught a lesson/being given a break/being sat for whateve...

Just consider how many guys the Habs presently have on the roster capable of playing Centre (Koivu, Ribiero, Bonk, Begin, Plekanec, Bulis, Murray, Lapierre, Locke and Urquhart). Only one shoots right-handed (Lapierre).
Of this group, there is precious little in the way...

Guigere & Bertuzzi?

Have any of you guys seen the rumors of J.S. Guigere and Todd Bertuzzi heading to Montreal? Says Zed & Ribs for Guigere, then Theo for the big Bert? Just read it and found it interesting.

New Rumours
(Preview)
Was listening to the Team990 this morning and they mentioned that there has been rumours of Giguere and Leclair to Montreal, which would mean the trading of Theodore. Even if those moves don't happen, it looks like Gainey is ready to move, maybe even do something major.

Trade Value
(Preview)
I think we all can agree on one thing on this board. A trade, or trades, is imminent. In fact, Gainey has the team accountant with him in Colorado (better known as your "cap specialist" in today's NHL) today. My question to you, is who do you feel has gained in trade value, lost trade value, or stayed the sa...

Start the Season Over

Am I the only one who believes that the team we have now (with the addition of 1 defenseman who can move the puck) is good enough to contend for the Cup? With all the trade talk, it seems as if everybody is looking elsewhere for salvation.
The team we began the season so well with is now back together and...

I was a little surprised to see Heuy back in net vs. COL. But, I think it is a smart, if not gutsy move. My Cristobal says he'll do just fine. If we get the same effort as vs OTT, we should pull this one off.
But my Cristobal doesn't tell me why this is - why not Theo? Is it jus...

Earlier on, I put the image below into a post. At the advice of my legal team, I want to assure that it is indeed parody, and in no way implies that Mike Ribeiro is a Scarface-like gun-toting maniac coke dealer.
In fact, it's quite plain from the body language that, while misguided, the pictured indi...
