If you're referring to me, I was just getting someone to make sure what I was reading was correct as my french is bad. I don't view this source as credible for I was viewing it on the response section of RDS.ca, nor did I really take it seriously. But if you're looking for a link,here

The actual story is that someone started a rumour that Ribs and Dags were drinking beer while sitting out the game in NJ. Also, this reporter broke the story of Dagenais yawning while in the press box. Wow, big news story, eh? (I got this from 730AM CKAC Chorus Quebec.) It turns out to be a false rumor as they asked Dags and he said they were drinking coffee. Apparently, RIbs has been sober for at least 10 years.

Ab- I dont think anyone here ever pointed negatively at the french culture. It is strictly the media. Perhaps the fact that the french, as a people, are very passionate about everything, including their hockey team, transcends into the media. But that is what I love about being a habs fan. The people and the passion.

Having said that, I believe the fact that an unsubstantiated rumour can be blown up like this is further proof if the influence that the media in Montreal (not french in particular) has on the hockey team and atmosphere in that city. To be fair, I read alot of the same things about the Leafs from Toronto media, but I think the french culture and ensuing passion steps it up a notch.

I happen to be a portuguese montrealer and i have been around Ribeiro in the past before he started to become who he is now...and i can assure you that this rumour does have merit.

Now obviously i don't have a link for you to prove this but take from it what you will.

Those of you that remember my very few posts know that i have been a Ribs supporter so i don't think i'd lie to make him look bad...but the truth is the truth. Luckily he has supposedly been clean for years now according to his family but i guess not...which is sad...for him, his family, and his supporters everywhere.

By the way the media also reported that Dagenais and Ribieor were drinking beer

while in the pressbox last week. This has since been officially found to be untrue by someone in the press box who says it was coffee. So there you go. By the way, what is the big deal with having a beer in the pressbox? I put Captain Morgan in my water bottle and I am playing lol
