Is Downey...
(Preview)
Is Downey hurt? He plays 16 games straight for us and Roy lays him out, then he didn't return after that. Now gainey doesn't use him. Is it because he looked silly in the fight and lost a chance at gaining momuntum in that game or is he hurt from the fight?
Again, this team is better without h...

Hab Fans for Life?
(Preview)
Someone mentioned switching allegiances a few posts ago, and it got me to thinking.
Have all of you been Hab fans all your life? Or were some of you once cheering for some other team and then saw the light? It's OK to admit it; that would be a sign of maturity.
I have heard many tim...

Credit to Todd Simpson & Garth Murray
(Preview)
A long time ago we actually used to be a tough team (Chris Murray, Donald Brashear, Lyle Odelein etc.). The Canadiens have been getting pushed around for years, so it was nice to see two guys really stand up for each other and themselves last night.
Good to see Simpson get right after Ben Clymer...

Over quoting is dangerous to the mind!
(Preview)
Hey all you quote-button freaks out there...
How about spending a couple of seconds whittling down the quote to just the appropriate part that you're referencing....
That way, we don't have to read the entire paragraph about the love/hate of Saku 5000 times to get the fact that you disagree...

Need Advice
(Preview)
Okay, I pretty much forgot that I only have one day left until I head to Montreal. So, I need some advice from the locals. I'll be coming in from the west (401 whatever that turns into in Quebec). How close am I going to be able to get before I should park and grab a cab or metreo?

Ovechkin...a non factor
(Preview)
I think the Habs did a great job in containing argueably, the best player in the league. Besides his body check on Rivet, he was a non-factor (until late in the game when he got one past Huet's legs but the game was already over).
P.S. Was this the first time we witnessed 2 fights in the same game th...

Abby, revenge!!!
(Preview)
We have alot of games over the next week, so we have to put Abby in there somewhere so we don't burn out Huet, so i say Huet play against the Isles, and both Leafs games(way to important to mess around there), but on sunday the boys go to Pittsburg, and thats where Abby comes in. After the last 2 games h...

7 Players Have Scored Their 1st Goal This Year!
(Preview)
At the start of the season if somebody told you that:
- Theo would play only 38 games, and have a 3.46 and 88% save percentage;
- 7 players wearing a Montreal uniform would score their 1st career goals;
- Koivu & Kovalev would both miss 10 games;
And we'd be in 8th place, f...

Was that really you wearing #14? NEVER EVER, EVER, EVER thought that I would say this, but Bonk was awesome last night. I saw him dangle 2 different guys in the second period, let off a few nice shots and set a few guys up. I would even go as far as to say that he was on...

Habs Away

It's a shame that the majority of our games will be at home for the rest of the season. I mean were playing good hockey on the road. Why do u think? Pressure from fans.

leadership
(Preview)
For the Canadiens to make the playoffs, then the club's best players have to perform as the club's best players. The reality is Montreal's best players are not the highest paid players, Koviu and Kovalev. Markov and Huet are the team's most important players and their performances down the stretch w...

HUET
(Preview)
Yesterday's game Huet was good but not great. Both goals that were scored on him were his inability to position himself in the transition. Nonetheless he's still good and gonna get a shout tonight, mark my words.

Have to ask again...
(Preview)
why do we have Downer again? The guy sucks! One of the favorite Habs goes down and he finally drops his gloves only to look more silly. Gainey signs Ivanans( a monster of a player) than doesn't use him and picks up Downey who is no stronger than Begin without any of his hockey skills. Just can...

One on the road
(Preview)
Regardless what has happened in the past, we won tonight and re-established the 5 point spread over the Laffs. Hopefully it will continue and the Habs can stay ahead of the Laffs. Scoring came from players that needed to comethrough and maybe this is a good sign.

I've watched practically every single game played over the past 5 years & have never seen such appalling goaltending EVER!!! .... even with Theo's demise.

He still needs to step it up especially defensively. The guy was still -1 in a game where we scored four goals. I hope he comes around and plays stronger two ways. Just to compare, the Ribs line were +2.
As And-O mentioned, if Gainey uses him against Sundin, we may los...

Lots of work needed....
(Preview)
Tonight was a start but this team was lucky to get offense from two sources that don't score, Komi and Dandy. The core players still need to step it up because it's not like we beat the Wings. Our PP still needs to do better. On the 5 on 3, Saks has the puck in Caps zone then proceeds to ska...
