Brisebois
(Preview)
Nobody commented on this. But did anyone notice how Brisebois cost their team the game in game 3 and many people could argue he cost the series.
I was not happy to see him leave because I thought he played well defenisly his last season, but after watching that O.T in game 3 and game 4, I am glad he is gone....

I once said...
(Preview)
I hated Buffalo. But I have to give them credit...they are a hard working crew. And I like that.
Since Ottawa is a Canadian team and I hate Buffalo, I wanted to cheer for the Sens...but I have found myself cheering for that Buffalo team...go figure. And now they are up 3-0.
I used to follow the habs eve...

(Preview)
Have to give Brian Burke the Ducks Gm a ton of credit. After getting a raw deal in Vancouver, where he turned that team around with great drafts and trades that brought in the likes of Jovanovski, Morrison and the Sedin twins amongst others which contributed to Vancouver improving their point totals 5...

no quick fix at center
(Preview)
There does not appear to be any quick fix to the Habs need of a quality centerman to compliment Koviu. The ufa's available are slim pickings: Savard, Arnott,Cullen,Peca, Weight, Allison, Cassels and Briere. Briere would appear to be the most attractive, but Buffalo will be well under the cap and pro...

I'm Old School: What sets the Habs above the rest
(Preview)
It's simple - the sweater and team are bigger than any individual player. I grew up when the greatest players in the game (way too long a list of great players to name here) put themselves 2nd to the team.
When Dryden left over money for a year and articled in Toronto - screw him I thought
When LeClair f...

Hey habgirl... the eggs hatched.

Not hockey related but very cool....
You posted a thread a while back re: the eagles nest in BC that I got hooked on. Unfortunately I read that those Eagles had left the eggs a few days ago & (I think) the babies have passed on (never actually hatched)
They have set up a...

I don't know anything about you redlight, and I have nothing against your opinions. But here's a small request. As soon as you get into your next shoving match, please take it to this thread so we don't have to wade through millions of "you're a loser" "no you're a loser" "no you're a...

Is Buffalo on the verge of something REALLY great???
(Preview)
While many other teams are satisfied drafting the likes of flash-and-dash primadona's, the Sabres are out landing blood-and-guts type playoff performers.
Case and point...have a look the the OHL Final series...London vs, Peterborough...Dylan Hunter (yes THAT Hunter) is the Captain...

Two goalies? And a prayer?
(Preview)
The way the playoffs are going these days, it seems like a hot goalie so important you need to get yourself two starting calibre goalies and hope one gets hot. And you almost can't tell when a goalie's going to be hot - even Brodeur isn't totally dependable.

Since acquiring a top-notch centre would likely cost too much money and/or too many prospects…
(Preview)
…it appears that drafting one is the only viable/realistic solution!
Having said that, there are at least two options in the upcoming draft!
First, Jordan Staal (brother of Eric…talk about good genetics) plays for the Peterborough Petes and is ranked as the 2nd or 3rd best NA...

From Team 990 website: http://www.team990.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=213 Tuesday May 2 10:40 PM (Bell Centre) They mostly spoke the right words: "We showed a lot of guts" "It``s hard to swallow" "We believed we could win" The Canadiens had just lost their fourth consecutive one goal game to the...

Habs financial deal
(Preview)
There's a story at sports business journal about the Habs/George Gilett closing a 240 Million dollar deal in which Gilett will pay himself a 72 million dollar dividend. The money will be used to pay off loans he took out to but the team. I don't really understand all the ramifications but...
