Im sorry but i havent heard much about a certain hab who has been GREAT for us so far this year. Very mature, hasnt taken many penalties, plays in ALL situations ( well ) and is currently leading all forwards on the habs in points. This includes the great K's I am of course talking about Chris Higgins!!! The guy has been amazing. 6 goals 2 shorthanded 2 powerplay and 2 even strength. He has a game winning goal and next to sergie has the top shooting percentage on the team. The guy is only in his second year and looks like he can easily be a star! Hope the guy can keep it up!!!! Im definately a huge fan of his and he is slowing becoming noe of my favorites!

Higgins, great second year start. Let's hope it continues.

Hopefully, given more icetime, Perez will be more consistent and with Pleks on the third or fourth line it should reduce the pressure he was under.

I remember it as if were yesterday. Canadiens were riding a 1-0 lead into the 3rd period. The Kings finally got one by Roy to tie it at 1-1. Kirk Muller gets the puck and shoots it by kelly Rhudy 2-1 Habs. The Forum goes bonkers.  Then Diepietro made it 3-1. I love bringing out the NHL film of the 93 playoffs. The Forum was a rockin the Habs would not be denied. I have loved Muller ever since that goal. He could make it happen

That's redundant

Anywho, I'm thrilled to have Muller behind our bench.... he looks soooo happy back there, always grinnin' ear to ear.

Tomas Plekanec accepts the blame for the lack of success of the second line. The young Czech says that it was not because of a lack of effort, that it did not work. "Imay have put to much pressure on myself he admits. I may have tried to hard to give the puck to my wingers (Kovalev and Samsonov), instead of playing my game. I always put in the effort in an attempt to satisfy the coachs."  Plekanec does not regard his demotion to the fourth trio and a penalty

"I'll roll up my sleeves and do my best," he said.

The arrival of Plekanec at centre permits Steve Bégin to return to his game of the hard forecheck. Bégin doesn't hide that he prefers to play wing.

"Our fourth line will have more teeth, commented Carbo. It may be a positive for Tomas to play a more defensive role. It might allow him to find his confidence."

The reason Plecs is likable. Also, we've been saying Kovy and Sammy are hard to play with. Plecs will be great on fourth line.

So as most people knew, Pleks was not ready for #2 or #1 center on the team. Too much pressure put on the kid.

I agree even though I figured he would be given that task. Lack of depth was my reasoning.

Big question...what kind of player will Plecs turn out to be as he develops?

I think he will be a great 3rd line center down the road able to shutdown other teams top centers and chip in some points. He will be Bonks replacement next year.

I know this was a thread about Higgins, but I have to give Pleks some props for telling it like it is. The 4 kids who emerged last year (Higgins, Pleks, Perez, Komi) all seem to have a great attitude. (Just like the captain they're learning from )

With all the BS on this board and ost posts talking about how much we hate one player or another, we hardly get to talk about teh good ones (and, frankly, most Habs are worth talking good about.)

Higgins has become our best surprise and has picked up from where he left off last season. I feel he can lead the team in points and goals this year. And his great play will have a direct impact on his linemates.

You forgot one player who emerged last year. I know Murray is in his sophomore slump, but he has a great attitude, brilliant work ethic, and can lay bone crushing hits. I wouldn't put him in the same basket skill-wise, but all these guys are champions.

I believe Higgins will be the next Captain of the Montreal Canadiens after Saks figures he has had enough of the rat race and goes back to Finland to start a Chinchilla farm.
