Just thinking, I realize Carb wants to get both our goalies going and playing good but should he work on both at the same time?
Huet is rounding into form and starting to get a good handle on rebounds also. Should Carb let Huet continue to play and improve himself until he loses than start Abby and let him get solid?
I want both goalies playing good but I think by making them both a project simultanously may delay their progression if they can't find a groove not playing enough consecutive games.
I think I would of left this game to Huet tonight even if Abby plays well and wins.
I think everyone on this board wanted Huet in goal at the start of the year because of what he did last season. In fact most of us still do BUT Abby hasn't done an awful lot wrong so far.We don't have a clear #1 at the moment.
The fact that Abby gave up bad rebounds to start and then allowed one in off his own skate because he was flopping all over like a fish doesn't make up for his many other saves tonight.
OK, fact is, he did turn his game around in time and dug out a point. What does Carb do now. Go back to him or continue with the Huet project. He has to let one of his goalies get hot and play until they have a bad game or lose.

And "THAT" outshot 51-22...when a team plays with one goalie and the shots on goal are around, say 25 each team..thats a balanced game, play is most likely at both ends of the ice, thats with HUET in the nets,it's called having CONFIDENCE in your goalie to make the save,.......but when the shots are unbalanced like last night....thats having "NOOOO CONFIDENCE" in your goalie ,thats with ABBY in the nets ...SCARED to leave there zone
ABBY HOOOOly CRAP

Doodie, you're losing credibility here. Here's my suggestion: when you want to reprise your "Huet is way better than Abby" theme, you should bring it up after: a) a bad game by Abby or b) a good game by Huet

The reality of it all is, Abby, and he alone allowed his teammates to gain a point and save face, despite a horrible performance by the team.
I have very little concern over the Goalie situation. I just want the skaters to play like they did against Calgary and Buffalo. The shutout loss to Buffalo was a very fast game and the win over Calgary was fast and nasty, if the boys played that every night, we wouldn't be talking about our percieved goalie problem.

When we are outshot 51-22 goaltending is the least of our concerns.

i disagree
we do have a clear cut # 1 goalie huet
i have no idea what has happened between last yr and now ,huet carried this team last yr and should be given every opportunity to do it again this yr .
abby has not shown me a thing that would merit so many starts this yr.
I've said it in a number of other threads, but, I don't care who they make number one (I still believe it should be Huet until he proves that he isn't), just please anoint one of them to be number one. There is no way that they get into a groove or on a roll by playing two games, and sitting two games.

Quite honestly, I really couldn't careless about #1 or #2, all I want is to see whoever is in the net on any given night to get us a win or at least a tie. I'll be more than happy with that. We have bigger concerns right now, yet the goalie thing seems to be an issue when it's not. That could change and when it does, then Carbo will do whats right for the team.
