Living with a Leafs fan
Permalink Closed

So, I was just wondering if anyone else here has a good friend/family member that is a die-hard Leafs fan. Because I live with them......

See, my ENTIRE family cheers for the Leafs. My Mom and Dad, my Brother, my Aunts, Uncles. Im from Ontario, as are all of they, so its all I hear about.

I asked my Dad one day when I was a kid, who his favorite team was. He said Toronto. So I said cool, and cheered for them too. But my Dad (jokingly) said "you can't be a Leafs fan, you don't know anything about them!" So I said fine, who do the Leafs hate? And he said the Habs. Hence the heritage of my love for the Habs, and my first official step toward being the weird one in my family.

So do any of you know/live with any diehard Toronto fans? And if you do, then Im sure you understand why I might be cheering just a little bit louder than normal tomorrow night. Not because we need the win, but because I cant afford the loss....

Damn Leafs.....go habs go!!

I grew up with it as well. Both my father and brother are leaf fans. It's horrible. When I would try to watch a habs game I'd always get commentary about how the habs are doing everything wrong.

Being in Ontario, I'm pretty much surrounded by them, including my Brother in law, I told my Dad not to give him permission to marry my sister.  Losing to the Laffs is one of the worst things in the world.

I was married to one for 18 years.  See the word "was" in the first sentence...

Now living with a Canucks fan...that I can handle.  Especially since we went to a Habs/'Nucks game in Vancouver last year, and guess which jersey he wore?  Hint - wasn't a Canucks...it was a vintage Habs from my closet.  Bless him, he really must dig me...

Good for you Habgirl, you have converted this poor soul. As well, it would appear, like all good hab fans, he is finely seeing the light!!
