He may never end up being the offensive threat we all hoped he would be....
But is there a player on the Habs who is stronger on the puck or that wins more battles for the puck....I mean I would say it is borderline ridiculous how often he comes away with it...
Its a shame he hasn't developed a knack for putting it home....Maybe with time.
maybe he'll be our afinagenov, he was the same way for years , all flash and no finnish , now he's explosive and shifty and burries his chances.its only the last 2 years hes been doing much , maybe perez will develop like that .
Two good posts. Perezhogin has been compared to Petrov by some, but:
-he's way tougher; for a little guy he's strong on his skates and along the boards, and he has a bit of a nasty streak. -he has a decent release, but has yet to get that scorer's touch.
I hope for a lot from him, and I hope he's handling all the juggling well, because I think he's one of the unmentioned bright spots this year. He needs a goal or two though....
I hope that goal he score on Sat nite is the first of many.. I think before the next game i will start a post about someone else who needs to get going...
Maybe Perezhogin is an avid reader of Gohabs.com and got motivated by our statements?
The kid is also still growing, as he is a little over 200lbs now... definitely bigger than Petrov! He was scouted as being a future fiirst-liner, but I didn't realize there was so much more to the package than just scoring talent. Let's hope the Habs keep developing prospects like they have the last few years!
