There are a few bad apples on this team that are spoilling the entire tree...

Simply, Markov is the most overrated player on the team, His giveaways, lack of desire and nonchalant plays have been costly to us. Markov is no better than a 3 or 4 dman.

Why is everyone so quick to jump on kovalev and Samsonov while on the other hand you all ask yo give Huet and Markov time to flourish!!!?????

Huet gave this team no chance to win at the game last night and Markov was his accomplice. Huet clearly looks like a back up goalie and only shows that the debate of him being a number 1or 2 goalie has been clear.

Ninnima looks like a chicken with his head cut off and gives the puck up too much for his own good.

Why do you guys think we need big guy up the middle? We dont ...We have the right players , its that they are notplaying up to their potential...

Look at buffalo. Briere, Drury, Roy , Novotny and Gaustad.... Only gaustad and novotny who third and fourth line players stand above 6'1

It doesnt take size anymore..it takes blazing speed and skill. Buffalo's defenseman are the most underrated core in the NHL as well.

I say move huet and markov while they are still somewhat hot property....

I think it's true that Markov has started slowly, but he is the closest thing we have in our defense corps to "blazing speed and skill" so it would be premature to give up on him.

Plus, when we haven't had Markov the last few seasons, we've sucked, and that hasn't changed (remember, our record is 4-2-2 so far). Markov does a lot of the little things well, and he's such a good skater it sometimes looks like he's taking it easy out there. I do worry that his heart is elsewhere at the moment, but we have to hope he decides to stay now that we have even more Russians than ever. Let's hope Markov is the next Fetisov or Konstantinov, and not the next Ozolinsh (I know, he's not Russian) or Tverdovsky.

There's no question in my mind that Markov is a different player this year. Maybe he's having trouble adapting to a new system -- I don't know. But his play last night vs. the Swords was abysmal, both offensively and defensively.

As was Huet's.

As was Kovalev's.

And our number-one line of Koivu, Higgins and Ryder were all minus-three for the game. Not what we need from them, either.

If these six guys had played their best, we would've been in the game. We might not have won against a team as strong as the Swords, but we wouldn't have been so soundly thrashed either.

I have a feeling that today's practice is going to be a rather punitive one...
