I like Streit and most of our D

I really think Streit has been one of our better defencemen the first two games he has played...he has some nice moves with the puck....

He does have to stop trying to do too much at times...but all in all I think he has been solid...

The way I see it right now...

  1. Komocop...can't argue against his clutchness all season long

  2. Markov...really starting to pick up his play

  3. Streit...nice solid d-man

  4. Ninimmaa.... really played well so far, still has too many what were you thinking moments

  5. Souray.. gotta love his offensive contribution

  6. Rivet... outside his breakaway and ebullient celebration after hasn't been up to par of late..probably was the 1st and last breakaway of his career.

The way i see it you can't pair Rivs with Shelly...d pairs should be

Komocop and Rivs

Markov and Shelly

Streit and Ninimaa.

Where to begin, haha jk.

While I agree Streit has looked good, he is definately not better than Souray.

Anyways, the real issues are with your proposed pairings:

A)Souray and Rivet often play together, so I don't know why you feel that you "can't put them together"

B) Your first pair is 2 RD (Rivet, Komi), your second pair is 2 LD (Markov and Souray), but your 3 pairing is bang-on!

There are very few ways the D-men pairings can be set up.

Option 1: Markov - Komisarek

Souray-Rivet

Streit-Niinimaa

Option 2: Markov - Rivet

Souray - Komisarek

Streit Niinimaa

I'm a fan of option 1

I think Souray should be higher up on this list.

My list was based primarily on responsibility in their own end. Souray hasn't been great except for on the power play. Rivet hasn't played well most of the season.

I would say that pairing needs to be split up if they don't start playing better together...

But so far tonite everyone is looking good.
