Not sure about that. Right now he's played one more game than Huet and his stats are top 10 in the league. Huet's stats on the other hand are at the bottom end of the league. Huet has still not proven that the 20 games he played last year were not above his head.

Trade bait? Maybe...I was watching the game as it was shown by the Avalanche own TV channel and it was interesting for a number of reasons.(Apart from the pop-up adds for John Elway's used car dealership which I found rather amusing). The comentators, although naturally pro Aves were surprisingly fair and showed a great amount of respect for the Canadiens organisation. What's relevant here is that they couldn't say enough good things about Abby from his time in Denver. What a great guy he is, how he's always nice to talk to, etc, etc...So if half the stuff being said about Theo is true we got the better part of the deal no matter what.Having said that, I wouldn't have booed him...

If he sat on the bench for the last 5 games he wouldn;t be worth to much i would say , can anybody else on this board see the the difference in the way Huet plays and the way Abby plays

I think we should not be discussing trades right now. we need to get behind this team and root for them tobeat the hell out of the Sabres tonight. As the weks go by, there will be enoiugh time to talk about trades. Its only 8 games in. Lets see how this team gels over the next few weeks. There are also players out injured and that could make a big difference whan they get back. That game on Sat was an emotional roller coaster all night long.

I agree David. As I said. there are concerns but the bottom line is winning and so far, the boys have been finding a way to win games, in spite of adversity (ie so-so goaltending or lack of depth at certain positions). I say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Although I am sure that BG has his eye on the market should the right one come knockin.

I can see either being trade bate.  We've got plenty of developing goalies who'll be in the NHL.  What I can't see is a trade involving Huet or Abby any time soon.  Non-issue at this point.

Very true, good point. But look at the stats - Abby is stronger. I realized it is way to early to be talking trades and way to early to take stats into consideration - but Huet is .88 and Abby is .92.

David- if I was GM and had a wish list it would be a "Power Center", someone who is tough to knock off the puck and can go to the net with authority and a Dman with more mobility. If the rumours are true and the Cube is out for the season, that obviously puts some pressure on getting another dman. Sorry but I just think that we need some mobility back there. Looking at the Flames game and the Avs game you just see too many goals scored where their forwards were allowed to roam off to the wings in our end, because our D could not get to them quick enough.

Huet is an overpaid, overrated goalie who couldn't stop a volleyball with a surfboard. He will lose this game for us. It should be a 1 goal game, not a three goal game. Ridiculous.
