The Habs vs the rest of Canada

Hey guys, my name's Adam, I've been reading this board for quite a while, and finally decided to speak up. Im a longtime Habs fan, who currently lives in Edmonton. And as you all know, this city's hockey team recently went on quite the little run. Now, I like the Oilers a lot, afterthe Habs, they're probably my second favorite team, but I'm sick and tired of hearing from all the fans out here about how Edmonton is the hottest thing on ice right now.

In your honest, UNBIASED opinions, which Canadian team do you think has look the best thus far this year? I truthfully think it's been Montreal. Ottawa has been pretty horrible, as has Calgary. Vancouver hasn't been anything special. Edmonton has actually looked decent, but horribly inconsistent. They're winning a lot of games they don't deserve, thanks to Roli. And Toronto, well......

Anyways, what do you guys think? Has another Canadian franchise looked better early on than our boys? And why? Thanks for giving me somwehre to talk to other Habs fans, I was starting to think I was all by myself out here!

I think it's hard to argue with Ottawa and Calgary on paper, but in fact both teams haven't looked that great yet this year.

Edmonton is in transition but seems to be handling it fairly well, and you know MacTavish will have them up for it over the haul.

Vancouver is a year away I think, at least.

So that leaves MONTREAL, the best Canadian team right now. But they will have a tough time finishing with the best record of the lot, with their issues at centre and defense.

I think I'm forgetting another team, but I can't remember who it is right now.....

AND
Welcome to the board! You should look up one of our most dedicated posters and diehard fans, AB Habman, if you're looking for other Alberta Hab fans, although he might hold your (great) Saku Koivu signature against you.

Welcome blank!! I like Edmonton for a number of reasons. I think they have decent depth, great coaching and good goaltending. But Calgary, although off to a slow start. will be there. They are dealing with new coaches and some new players but will gel. Ottawa will be there. They have too much talent not to. I feel that Montreal is still a year or two away but who knows..may pull off an upset or 2 this year.

WELCOME blank    and if i had to pic a Canadian team besides  the habs for an unbiased pic  i would probably say the oilers as well   goaltending is huge  and if you have one whos capable of carrying the team  once in a while then all you need is, not a lot, but some consistant scoring  and you'll go far in the season   the only thing i don't like about them is  roli goes down   so do the rest of the team.
