He would not have to clear waivers when called up. Not sure about if he is sent back.

He has not yet played enough games to need to clear waivers. He can be sent up and down at will for now.

The question is why would we want to call him up right now, we are fine on the wings. Locke would probably be the next call up since he can play centre and is skilled offensively even though he doesn't seem to have earned it so far in Hamilton) judging by stats only. Grabo would be the best when he comes back from injury, and Chip would of course get consideration despite his lack of professional seasoning.

If we wanted to bench Samsonov for a game then yeah, he would fit very well on the second line, but it might seem like a snub to Lats.

No. What I had in mind was using him rather than Murray when we need more skill and less muscle.

You mean have him, Latendresse, and Begin as another scoring unit? Interesting. Well, in theory there is nothing stopping us from calling him up at will.
