I heard we took a lot of penalties... what kind? Lazy? Frustration?

5 points out if a possible 6 on the road to start the year.  I'm very happy with that; aren't we all?

Really impressed by the play of Komisarek.  He was jumping into the play, shooting at every opportunity.  Those on the board that mentioned how he was really coming into his own were bang on.

I also like the play of Niinimaa.  He isn't too flashy, but he was solid at the blue line and in his own end.

And beautiful takeaway by Higgins from Forseberg.  I hate to say it, but Pierre Maguire was right, the Habs were definately winning the one on one battles.

I missed the three stars.  Can anyone fill me in?

Edit:  I found it on NHL.com - 1) Abby, 2) Kovalev, and 3) M. Richards

Minus the penalty calls, and the mini choke in the third, overall not a disappointing performance by the Habs. Did anyone see one of our Clydedale's hustle back on "D" and stripe Umberger of the puck at our blueline. Got to love it when we fight for those pucks. With a little luck, our "D"men Dandeneault and Nini, could have scored had it not been for 2 great saves by Nittimaki.

Rivest got caught a few times up ice leaving Souray alone on 2 on ones. If he is going to pinch at the blueline with 4 inutes to go, then put the puck back into the offensive corner and not back thru the middle of the ice.

Abby deserved this win with 27 saves. Bonk, Johnson,Ryder Latendresse Begin all throwing some good hits tonight. What can you say more about HKR line, Koivu winning so many of his faceoffs and setting up Ryder's goal. Kovalev showed signs of breaking out, Plecs looking for him too much and should play his game and allow the chances to happen naturally. Sammy Backchecking late in third on a 2 on 1.

Was out and getting SMS updates from a friend. Nice win boys and girls. No goalie issues, just play the hot hand.

Looks like 23 is kissing Ryders feet!  And he should!

What a fun game.  Except for the penalties, which seemed a little off, we played well.  Someone asked what Ryder was doing on the 3rd line while Johnson was on the first - that was because Koivu plays PK and Ryder doesn't so Carbo had to get Ryder some ice time.  I think it was a good thing.

We had a lot of solid performances in this game - Johnson has so far been a great pick up and certainly makes me forget about the previous # 20.  Nini was good, so I'm liking this trade more and more.  Souray seemed to have had a good game.  Of course, Koivu showed why he's captain of the team (and might I add that being the Habs captain is unlike captaining any other team!).  Ryder, Higgins are A+.  Great coaching and good team effort.  And what a goal by Kovy!  Hopefully what we see as him loafing is just his style.  Great game, little heart attack in the 3rd, but we won.
