...Yanic Perrault has not yet been signed!

Automatic 20 goals...awesome face-off guy...pretty fair set-up man...veteran presence...reasonably priced!

And-o thinks that this would make one heckuva 'depth' move...and it could possibly add more options for Gainey to make a trade!!!

And-o would like to know how much money this would take!!!????????????

And-o I think you're going a bit soft and squooshy. You've said way too many sentimental things lately. It's time to get your game back so you can defend yourself against these aggressive new posters...

Plus you've got a decent point Ando.

Perrault is still a good player who can play in this league, and despite his lack of speed, will find a home as soon as there are injuries. If we signed him before those injuries happened, then he would make an interesting trading piece (good 3rd line and PP for any team). Both he and Jason Allison will be signed within 2 months, and Perrault is certainly the faster of the two.

We could certainly sign him and have him as our 23rd player. I guess he would sign for 800 000 plus a decent bonus package.

Plouffy is right...although And-o has had one heckuva stretch around work lately...and he needed to get away on a mini-vacation with Mrs. And-o.

...Wednesday night (and beyond) though, GOHABBERS had better have their chin-straps done up tight (that means you Mulsey)...'cause And-o's 'pre-season' is over...and he's planning on bringing his 'A' game (and that means YOU TOO 'MCMeanWoman'!!!)

This was posted in the NHL Mail: Centre of Attention... on TSN

Hey Scott I was wondering why no one as picked up Yanic Perreault. I think he makes a great 3rd line center and with how consitent he is at wininng the draw should be a shoe in on nay teams PP. I know he's slower but proved last year that he can put up numbers in todays NHL. I was thinking the flames would make a great home town for him. - Aaron Perreault

Am I the only one suspicious about getting this question from someone in the, or a, Perreault family?  Anyway, Aaron, I'm sure Yanic's skating -- an issue that has dogged him throughout his career -- is partly responsible for him not getting signed as is his age (35), but it's also hard to believe there are teams out there that aren't interested in the game's best face-off man.  Maybe a team will give him a shot after some of their kids get a chance early in the season. - SC

Perrault can certainly be a good role player on this team, especially with the guys we have at the helm instituting a system that emphasizes solid defensive play from our forwards. It all starts with winning faceoffs, and we know Perrault can do that. And if he could put up 15-20 goals, he'd be well worth having around if the price is right.

All depends on whether Bob is swinging a bigger trade or not.
Since I doubt Chipchura is ready this year, and Murray and Begin seem better suited as wingers, Perreault does seem like an interesting 4th line option.

But what about Maxim Lapierre?

Plouf- I think Pereault would be a good addition, if only for the faceoff aspect. Put him on the 3rd or 4th line and put him out there in key faceoff situations (defensive zone penalty kill, etc). One thing that has impressed me so far is the faceoff prowess of Koivu. He is over 60%. Obviously Carbo has been working with him.
