After reading some of the posts on here regarding me, and private messages being sent regarding me,. I have decided to leave this board for awhile. I feel that I have always made an effort to post with some sort of authority and I have always respected the views of others on here. But to be accused of being "high and mighty" as well as making things up to support my point I am at the stage where I say "Why bother"?. This site is an outlet for us. A media to state our points of views without fear of being persecuted for them. But when it becomes personal, which it obviously has, it is time to find another hobby. When I receive PM's where people have dug out posts I made last year and calling me a hypocrite, it has obviously become way too serious.
I believe that what happens with these websites is that you have a constant turnover. New people come in with new ideas and sometimes the new and the old clash and the old moves on. What I always enjoyed about this site is the fact that so many people with such a vast array of hockey experience, could offer their points of views. There are fans on here who are very casual fans who do not know much about the game but have a real passion for it and their habs. There are posters on here who have played and coached at a high level and can offer a more technical insite. The two kind of balance each other out. Some people are overly optomistic in their posting, others are overly pessimistic. But again the 2 sides seem to balance each other.
The fact that my friend Claude is still brought up after 8 months when I try to make a point is disheartening. For those of you who will believe it I am very happy for CJ. He is 1 and 1, he loves the team and the organization, and he and his family have settled in nicely in Jersey. I hope he has a great year and proves (to himself more than anyone) that he can still coach in this league. Other than that what happened last year is last year. But it is very apparent that many on this board feel that when I make comments about certain players that it is tainted by how I perceive they treated Julien last year. Nothing could be farther from the truth. And-O was one of Julien's worst critics last year but I do not hold that against him. He has an opinion and he is entitled to it. It is up to CJ to prove his critics wrong, not me.
In closing let me say that it has been fun. But there are alot of changes going on in my life right now and I really feel that it is time to step back and take a break and allow other posters to carry the ball. If I have come across as arrogant or high and mighty to some, then I sincerely apologize. That was not my intention and anyone who knows me personally know that nothing could be further from the truth. To Nilsey, I will be seeing you in Halifax soon and we will wtahc a game or two at Boston Pizza. To everyone else, have fun, keep cheering and try not to get too personal with each other. This is just for fun and hockey is just a game.
Peace.

barry it sad that you decided to let the peanut gallery get the better of you , the diehard posters on this site see you for what you are a diehard hab fan and pationate about your team . i understand taking a step back because you have a big move coming or done , but dont let them dampen your spirits , i for 1 look forward to reading your post and replies . get back on board when you get straightened out , but dont stop posting because some people dont have a clue, and wouldnt know a hockey player if they ran over bobby orr.
I never ever ever had a issue with you personally... 'til you decided it was ok to mock me in a public post. You acted like what I had to say was unimportant , uneducated & unfounded.... a board member should not make another feel like crap... & when it's done to me... I do it back. I do not "ACT" this way I "REACT" this way. I took that slam personally & was gonna stop postin' altogether 'cause I felt like it was a slap in the face... or a "what would you know?" type of response.
Yes you are a seasoned hockey guy.... you know your sh!t... which is why I got extremely ticked off over your "Yeah, Kovy's God" post.
To leave over this is so uncool. People have the right to their opinion, (yes even you lol) but when you start belittlin' a poster.... that makes it personal.
I'm sorry you feel you must leave.... it was not my intention. Again, to each his own... Take care & I hope your move goes without any issues or problems.
P.S. the CJ remark was my way of gettin' even for the Kovy remark.... I liked CJ as our Coach & hope for & wish him the best in the future.
...YIKES...And-o came back at a BAAADDD time...but And-o doesn't mess with MCChick PERIOD
P.S. Kovy is a lazy, lazy talent...and C.J. is a heckuva coach who deserved better than to start-out in the hockey hotbed of the known Universe! But...let's move past this TOGETHER!!!

Agreed.
(P.S. Kovy IS lazy & CJ WAS a good coach for us.... I will never deny that)
JohnM wrote: Nah, just playing with you... I like reading your posts and I like reading Barry's posts, wouldn't want either of you to leave.
I never wanted him to leave.... I really didn't. Not to sound like a broken record... but he didn't need to come to this as a conclusion, I felt like I was justified, so I went on the attack. He didn't tell me I was wrong when I posted about my "take" on what he posted.
I've seen many many heated arguements on here (& was a part of a few) but those all got resolved without this extreme solution.... I think this is just too much & is not needed as a fix to the problem. Words... talkin' .... resolvin' issues.... that's the mature thing to do. (IMHO)
I post on here despite the fact I have been to one hockey game in my life!(Last year v.Ottawa, lost 4-2).I need as many of you folks as possible to tell me what the game is about!
Don't anybody else pack in because we don't all agree!

'cause that just won't happen. I love the differin' opinions on the board... it gets ya thinkin'. If everybody agreed... no one would post.... it would be too borin'
If heartache's brought pain in this crazy habs game ,i'd be a legend,in my own mind, lalalalalalalala everybody go to their happy place,it's all in fun ,so lets have some fun guys and girls, throw out an arguement it releaves the stress....but be prepared to get it thrown right back at ya

ok, barry33 is a grown man and if he has made the decision to leave the board, thats the decision he felt appropriate at the time. Is it overboard? i think so,

Barry I hope you do return. I for one always enjoyed your insights about CJ and you might have noticed that with some of my PMs last year about him. I always respected him, and more importantly, respected you.
I hope to see you here again, and don't close the door on GOHABS.
