The conclusion I was able to draw from it is that Guy is fearless...he simply has the skills, speed, and strength to play in the NHL right now. He was one of the most dangerous players on the Habs roster last nite and seemed to play well with Plekanecs and Johnson.
Kostitsyn on the other hand simply looked lost at times and really didnt look like the better player. In my opinion he needs to improve his skating because he skates like Kovalev, very nonchalantly all the time but didn't show the big time cuts or stickhandling that Kovy has to back it up.
Jancevski did impress me from what I saw and looks like once he adjusts to NHL speed he could be a real good player. He made some nice passes out of the zone.
Aebischer looks a touch lost in the nets.
That first line is gonna be good with Higgins-Koivu-Ryder....Ryder especially impressed me last night.
Last but certainly not least Ribeiro looks like he has added a new more physical dimension to his game. He really doesn't look like the Ribeiro of years past as he has definitely gotten stronger. He was winning some physical battles on the board.
If what I'm hearing/seeing these days about Ribs is true, then he's turned from spare ribs to big ol' beef ribs. Ok, bad joke. Really, though, if he keeps up with the new spirit of physical play and puts up some points, then we are so far ahead from the team we had last season it ain't funny. (Besides the injuries on D) tell me one area we are worse off? Rookie coach? Big deal. That's the norm in MTL. I'm excited to see the new Ribs!
