Personally, I like his attitude. And judging by his first Pre-season game, he wants it more than Perez and we should probably give him a shot. The guy is dieing to play for the Canadiens. All people keep saying is how we need players with heart. Well this guy's heart is practically bleeding to come up and play for the big boys.

I agree. It is ABOUT FREAKING TIME that someone showed wsome heart and desire and pride to wear the Red, White and Blue. Not to stereotype but in my opinion we have too many Europeans who do not show up to play each and every night. I really do not think that it will do him much good to toile away in Drummondville for another year. From what I have seen of his so far, he can certainly fit into our 3rd line better than what we have. PLUS..PLUS..he is taller than 5'8 which is a bonus!!

heart.... have you watched the world juniors last year?? He spent most of it on the bench because of his lack of heart and this board talked about that in lenght. Now, if he has heart now, maybe it's just to make the team, then he will go back to his normal self, or maybe he has woken up and will be fine for the rest of his carrear. But it's a gamble at his age

To his discredit he never fully recovered form being cut last year. Plus he had concussions to deal with. Some kids have an easier time than others dealing with it and he did not. But, in all fairness, he did everything and more than he had to to make the team last year and SHOULD have. Compared to some of the gusy who slept walked their way through a season in a habs uniform. I say give him a chance.

NO NO NO. This is a spoiled kid who "thinks" he deserves things.

Character Barry is what defines a player. And this is what a talented kid would say:

" I am going to bust my butt to prove I belong. I have dreamed of playing for the Canadians all my life and will do what is required to make this team. However, if the coaching staff feels I need more time to develop I will work twice as hard in Junior to show I belong"

This kid needs to grow up. Perhaps Junior is a nice spot for him.

I do not disagree with you there. But the fact is that Montreal DESPERATELY needs size and strength up front. We have a forward line full of smurfs. If he does get sent back (and I am betting he will) maybe he can take Ribs with him.

Last year at the world Junior, Sutter publicly lambasted him for his performance. He took it like a team man and said nothing and just tried harder. To me this says something about his character.
