As much as the Laffs are our rival..there must be something special to them that a player that loves hockey and can sign with anyone would rather hang them up as a Laff. Also, Roberts who was unwanted and thrown away will still resign with them.
I just don't get it! They won a total of about 11 Cups and the last one was 1930?
What makes them special that players always seem to want to flock there but not the Habs? Is it the Tax thing?

Must be something about being in the Centre of the Universe. Taxes in Toronto are as high as in Montreal, so that's not it. I think the language issue is also a deterrent.

I agree the language has quite a bit to do with it and also I believe media....I heard media in MTL is one of the most ferocious of all sports cities. As one steps off the plane they are there in hoards.... go h go
Which english speaking player wants to answer questions from a separatist reporter who only wants to speak to a french player anyway. As for the french players, well just look at the way Brisebois was treated here by the fans. Some of it well deserved, but they certainly went overboard when booing him 30 seconds into the game with no score and it's the first time he touches the puck. I know it's a small fraction of the fans, but they were pretty easy to hear.
