It was absolute chaos. I work right across the street in the mall where the shootings began. I just graduated from Dawson not long ago... 10,000 students are in that building not as well as hundreds of staff members... it is just crazy... Montreal right now is just a scene out of a bad horror movie. People screaming, crying... blood stains everywhere...

My prayers go out to the students, their families, and the people of Montreal. It is a sad and sick world we live in at times unfortunately. But I for one refuse to let idiots and cowards like these guys scare me or make me change my life.

I have been following the story on our national news. I can only say to all of you who are north of the border, that My thoughts and Prayers are with all the victims and their families. This is the type of incident we are dealing with all the time down here. God Bless all of you and we should all say a prayer for the victims and their families. With what has been going on in the world today, I personally talk to God all the time. I respect anyone who does not believe in a supreme being, but these days just believeing that there is someone there to talk to just keeps me going God Bless these people and God Bless Canada
I was a student there 2 years ago, and I still park my car across the street from Dawson to go to Concordia, I walked by before it happened I guess, cause everything seemed normal at the time....

It just goes to show you how fast things can change huh? I mean..one minute you walk by..just another normal day in dowtown Montreal...then all hell breaks loose. A bit reminiscent of 9-11 except a much smaller scale of course. The best we "normal" people can do in the face of terrorism and lunatics trying to change how we live our lives is refuse to give in. I refuse to let idiots and total cowards change how I live this life. I will not hide or run and cower. Because when we do, they have won. THey have succeeded. And we cannot allow that to happen.

It was so scary to hear it happening. My best friends mom works there and when i called his house to see if she was ok, i was told he drove ehr to work that day. Needless to say i was freaked out. Fortunately they were both ok, and never actually made it to Dawson because of blocked streets.
You just dont expect these kinda things to happen somewhere you know so well. I was a student there and i pass the palce on an almost daily basis.
I girlfriend was there not even an hour before it happened. She left to come meet up with me, but if she hadn;t she was ognig to go have coffee with a friend at Alexis Neon, and she would have been right i nthe middle of were it started.
I am just ahppy that they got the guy, and that it is now all over. I cannot understand the mentality of why someone would do this. Even though this is a hockey site, it is important that we take this as a lesson that hockey isnt everything.
Sorry for the rambling, but it has been a crazy day, and i wanted to get that off my chest.
Sounds like two policemen who were luckily already in the area cornered and shot the gunman. If not for this, the horrid situation would of been even worse!
It is times like these that make it so hard to be away from home. I have worked with a number of teenagers who go there and I am powerless to help them through this. My heart my prayers go out to my home and people. It is 1989 Polytechnique all over again and we are still recovering from that. I hope all your loved ones are safe.

Jay- it appears that these 2 cops are heros. They saved ALOT of lives. They could have done teh eays thing and waited for the swat team to arrive but they did not. When emotions run high there is alot of finger pointing. Some students complained that they wer elocked up in classrooms and scared and did not know what was going on. I think the police handled this perfectly. The kids were much safer in the classrooms until the police were sure there were no more gumen. My hats are off to the police. They are my heros.
