I don't know who's being more disrespectful - you, And-o for another not-so-thinly-veiled dig at Saku, or the others for dissing Sid the Kid and misspelling his name even!

Pfut!

I don't have an opinion as to who should have it instead... I just think that that is a huge mountain for him to conquer so quickly.

Not dissin' Crosby here.  Happy for him....

If the Pens are going to re-build the team, they may as well start with Crosby, he's their franchise player, the real deal and ready to play.

That may be part of the problems in Montreal. I like Koivu, but perhaps giving someone else the "C" maybe what we need to change things up.

Which brings us to who do you think would fit the bill?

There was talk at one time on RDS (if I'm not mistaken), that Higgins whould be a good candidate.

Stevie Y was named Red Wings captain sooner in his tenure than Crosby.

I realize that.... but I'd never compare him to the likes of Mr. Stevey Y..... at least not yet.

Also, Stevey never have an ego like him.... @ least none that I've witnessed. Sid squawked & squawked last year.... drove me nuts... I can't imagine what he'll be like now....

I hope he tones it down a bit. I remember when they had him mic'd last year (on a few different occations)... he would even talk over what the coaches were sayin' & would tell players to do it "this way or that way" instead,  even gettin' b!tchy at times. You could see he was pissin' a lot of players off. It reminded me of a 5 year old kid complainin' constantly in the back seat of a car yellin' orders like..."Are we there yet?"...... "you should turn here",  "Are we there yet?"..... "don't go by the map, listen to me"...... "Are we there yet?".... " You aren't drivin' right, want me to drive?"..... "Are we there yet?" G** Dammit... why aren't you listenin' to me "ARE WE THERE YET?".... lol... that's a hard pill to swallow.

At your work.... Would you listen to that kind of naggin' from a newbie? A young rookie comin' in, takin' over & tellin' you how to do your job? (without the authority to I might add) ..... @ least this season he'll be expected to speak up...

Regardless of what I just said, When you have such a crappy season like they did, maybe a change like this is what's needed. Hopefully his "drive" (pun intended ) will help the team out this year. They seem to need a kick in the pants, & who knows....Sid might be the one who can do it. (unless of course,  his drive is what hurt the team last year.... I didn't pay close enough attention)...

Time will tell.......

Yzerman was 21 and in his 3rd season.  Crosby is 19 and in his second.

I stand corrected.   But I agree about the swuaking.  It just shows Crosby's lack of maturity.  Give him time, though.
