I can't believe Ovechkin and Crosby being only 12th & 13th on the list!  Who would take Patrik Elias before either of them?  Not me!

I have noticed that all the Alex Kovalev bashers on here have been very quiet on this thread.

Even the Kovalev bashers are praying that this is the big year for him where he achieves consistency. It doesn't matter how up-and-down the guy is, anyone can see he has the potential to be top 10, not just top 50, but he has to keep at it every night. I'm glad we have him, because he must be a terror to play against.

Ripple- no one on this board has ever questioned the talent of Alex Kovalev. What he DOES desperately need is a heart transplant. It is almost as painful watching this guy put out only when he feels like it as it is watching Ribiero trying to bench press 80 lbs. Kovalev is a world class player. The reason you have "bashers" is the fact that fans in every single city the guy has played in have witnessed a great talent going to waste.

Barry, I know exactly what you are saying.  But that is the trouble with having a Eturopean superstar. How many Euros show up every night?  And please god don't anyone say Saku.  He is better than David Copperfield at disapearing.  I am hoping that Samsonov challenges Kovalev.  The one thing I noticed last season is that when Kovalev's point lead was challeneged he showed.  When Higgins scored his 23 and Kovalev had 21 Kovy showed up.  Lets hope Sammy challenges his skills daily.  And do you really think Ribs would even try and bench 80 lbs?

Kovalev has not had more than 26 goals and 66 pts since his days with Mario... it is time he steps up.
