When you are a fan of a team (Habs) it always feels like other teams are getting the better deals/players. Boston Chara, Kessell (signed yesterday) they say he is the second coming. Pens with the russian kid. Why do we not have great players like that coming up. Maybe they are their waiting and I am very wrong.
we dont get them because we never suck that bad , boston sucked last year , pitts sucked for a few , would you rather compete for and in the playoffs of suck so bad you get a top 3 pick . boston will screw him up or trade him away also.
This is an old Montreal story. We've never been bad enough to get that top pick. Montreal fans do not really accept the concept of rebuilding.
(When we did finally get a big pick we took Carey Price, which still bugs me....I hope I'm wrong and the guy turns out to be the next Patrick Roy)
When you are a "middle of the road" type team like the habs, you need to make the most of your picks and I think, for the most part, Montreal has. Although I agree with the Price pick. That is still a head scratcher. But hey. lets judge that pick in a few years. As for guys like Kessel and Malkin "having not played a game in the NHL". Not to worry. Those guys will be franchise players.

Since Roy, the Habs haven't had a dominant player. Kovy is the closest thing SOMETIMES! I agree with Barry, it will happen from within because for some reason the Habs are never on the right side of a blockbuster trade.
