A story at globeandmail.com (click on Sports) talks about the bidding process for Hockey Night In Canada. CBC's contract is expiring and Bell Globe Media is set to make a huge bid for all the TV rights. Bell controls TSN and RDS as well CTV.
And-o thought he heard $2.2 BILLION for 10 years as the offer!
...once And-o regained control of the car, WOW!!!
How would that change things??? And-o is thinking coverage similar to that of the NFL...as in, all regional games available to all regions!!! LOL!!!
Heard on the FAN this morning that the offer is $120 million a year for 10 years. That is a little more than double what the NHL gets for HNIC from CBC and TSN and RDS combined.

You know, I hate to say it, but they've been growing on me the last year or so. Even Pierre McGuire, once you get past the bombast, does seem to know his stuff.

wow it has been a long time since I have posted. But I have been still regularly visiting. I have just been really busy with a project I have been working on and just launched and is still in testig (www.wegather.ca).
I think that moving Hockey Night In Canada will prove to be the BEST thing that could happen to the NHL and it's fans in Canada.
I mean if nothing else it will help convince the population to move away from the rabit ears and get with the times. Put down a few $$$ and get digital tv, maybe even HDTV.
PS: I have always found Pierre to be entertaining.

Great to have you back, Mike! Did I tell you that you and I were related (And-o will love this)? The Muises and the d'Entremonts share one common ancestor that we all trace our roots to, back to 1651.
Cheers.
Your Acadian cousin,

SORRY,but i'm not happy that cbc might lose hnic on saturday nights! we have all grown up watching hockey on saturday nights on cbc, it was one night of the week that you knew hockey was going to be on! IT WAS PART OF CANADIAN HOCKEY, PART OF WHAT IT WAS LIKE TO BE A CANADIAN!
Frankly it's time to say good buy to cbc and their clowns.
The commentary was too obviously pro-Carolina during the playoffs. Neale and Cole need to be put out to pasture or get a job cleaning Laff's hockey equipment. Licking their cups clean!
How many complains just from our group were sent during last season? Enough all ready!
